TIPS: Don’t stay in Zhangjiajie – stay in Wulingyuan (30 min by bus) with dozens of hotels and restaurants within 10 min walking to the east park entrance Tickets are valid for 2 days, and include bus transit inside the park, but not lifts or cable cars ($25 each as of October 2024) The cable car from Tianzi to Wulingyuan is the most amazing, but only if it is not raining or cloudy, or you will be disappointed (Note: take the cable car DOWN from Tianzi, as the walk UP to the Wulingyuan station is very steep) The Bailong Elevator always has a long queue, but you can stay at the top as long as you like, and there are heaps of food stalls nearby (Note: to save money, skip the elevator and take the free bus to the top) Some bus stops were 5-10 min walking from each other, and this was not shown on the map, so it was confusing Like most touristic areas, go early in the morning to avoid the crowds If you extend your stay for a few days, Tianmen Mountain and the Grand Canyon are easy day trips...
