These walls, non-bearing, are from old chapel destroyed in 1944.

Read moreThe Notre Dame du Haut chapel by Le Corbusier has been on my must-visit list for years. Around the main chapel, Le Corbusier also designed some additional structures, including a charming little house where the priest still lives.
I wasn’t aware that Renzo Piano designed the ticket office and the monastery, or that Prouvé created the three bells for the chapel.
We visited around sunset, just before closing at 4:30 PM. The way the sunlight filtered through the windows was absolutely mesmerizing. I highly recommend planning your visit around this time. Keep in mind that the last entry is at 4:30 PM, and the site closes at 5 PM.

It is currently being renovated, the facades were finished, currently they're working on the tower and after that they will finish with the interior. It's actually really okay to visit during the renovationworkd. You can have a look at the beautiful facades, but still see the old tower a bit (with a cracks). Looking forward to the renovated interior. Recommend walking around a bit and enjoy the building by Renzo Piano.
