This is great I definitely recommend however there is definitely room for improvement as we have an autistic daughter that is sensitive to noise (like really) and it was our luck that the fire alarm went off right in the middle of the indoor bit of it and we got a bit lost and in this case the fire alarm was shouting get out like a bomb was about to drop and we couldn't find our way out me and my other daughter were laughing but my husband (very nervous traveller) was stressing his head off and was refusing to go through the bat cave the staff were friendly but just so happened my autistic daughter heared a rumour an animal was out ( which it wasn't) luckily we got escorted out and the man escorting us was really understanding I think our luck but then we got outside and it poured down with rain so we went for food to calm down a bit it was over priced but tasted good not many options but we had good memories my autistic daughter doesn't like walking especially in the heat and it resulted her to throw up but we saw some things only we could see once in our life like the cheetahs we really active and were chasing each other it was amazing just things we couldn't or them...
Read moreOutstanding! My partner, daughter, and I spent the morning there, and had a great time. I took advantage of the free entry to show our 18 month old to see some A list animals. Giraffes, Zebras, Rhinos….all sorts to see, and we didn’t get to see them all as the zoo was so big, so we are planning our next trip there in a week or two.
The zoo is super family friendly with long and short routes to take. There are also a load of picnic benches dotted around the park so it’s perfect for feeding the little ones or having a break.
Transport is great too with a shuttle bus that goes right to the door.
Also, there are some kids play parks, hopefully the one for toddlers is fixed soon. Our little one would love it.
The zoo also appears to be a popular place for running.
Finally, not sure if it’s connected to the zoo but there is a super cheap cafe with fantastic quality food at the entrance. I’d recommend there too!
If I could having given 100 star review, I would have.
Can’t wait...
Read moreI am not a fan of the zoo, aquariums or any other places where any kind of animals get imprisoned. However, the Montpellier Lunaret park and zoo is a wide 80-hectare park with free entrance and the priority is to provide the best-simulated environment for animals that some of them are even endangered species. You can have a nice walk in nature and see some fantastic creatures along your path. There are two-three picnic places if you want to rest a bit. Also, there is a restaurant beside the zoo by the entrance for those who want to eat lunch or some snacks. You can spend a few hours or half a day in the zoo. By the way, you can go there by public transportation, there is a shuttle that you can take at tram 1 stop Université Sciences et Lettres to the...
