PLEASE RESPECT THE PLACE. This place until 3 years ago was a paradise on earth. Since someone put it on google Maps it has start the to fall down. Wanna be Youtubers, drones, rakets, plastic Unicorns etc, are the new "visitors". Traditionally that was a nudist beach and was gathering people that love nature, peace, quite and nice vibes. They were respecting the place and were keeping it clean. Unfortunately today it's completely another story. Noise, garbage, feces, toilet paper, fires and the list goes on. You tourists before you come here educate yourself about that place. Kedrodasos it's a protected area belongs to Natura 2000. The Cedar trees grow 1cm per year. Those trees here are thousands of years old and you are not allowed to break anything, even the smallest piece. You DO NOT allow to collect anything from old broken wood, to shells, sand, rock, ANYTHING. Everything here belongs to ecosystem and has to stay like that. When you need to go to the "toilet", it's not a big deal to dig a hole and to cover your "goods". Take with you your used toilet paper or wipes, they don't belong here. If you pee have a bottle filled with sea water and throw it over, the place ends up stinking pee like public toilets. Collect all your garbage from the biggest to the smallest like cigarette butts, bottles, umbrellas, food wraps, EVERYTHING. And the most important of all DO NOT LIGHT FIRES. As I already said, you don't allow to pick already broken pieces of wood and of course for no reason to break trees and bushes. For the sake of 1 or 2 hours of pleasure for you, you destroy a thousand years history. Also the trees are dry and you can set on fire the all place in zero time. For those that you have come already and for those that you don't, the place is extremely difficult approachable, to zero approachable for the Fire Brigade. PLEASE RESPECT THE PLACE THAT GIVES YOU HOSPITALITY. It's terrible to think that I have to write a review to tell people who consider themselves civilised about the obvious. When you have time to put sun block on, take hundreds of pictures, for sure you have time to pick up your garbage. And for not misunderstandings I am talking about foreigners and...
Read moreKedrodasos Beach is on the remote side — about an hour and fifty minutes from Chania — but worth the effort. For the first time, we had natural shade right on the beach from cedar trees instead of the usual rental parasols. It gives the whole place a different, almost wild feel.
It’s clearly loved by locals and adventurous tourists. We saw tents set up, even solar panels, so some people are camping here for real. There’s a large, flat parking area at the top, perfectly fine. Still, for some reason people insist on driving their cars closer to the path, bouncing over sharp rocks and uneven ground — all to save 100 meters. Why? Beats me. :)
The walk down is manageable, though you do need steady footing. Greeks, of course, were mastering it in flip-flops and Crocs without a second thought. Right next to the main parking you’ll also find a café with cold drinks and snacks, but down on the beach it’s all pure nature.
The reward is stunning: crystal-clear blue waters that people always dream of finding. We even spotted a patch of the famous pink sand, about a meter wide. Bring water and some snacks, claim a shady spot under the cedar trees with their unique scent, and you’ll happily spend the...

This is not a tourist attraction, this is what beaches should look like. No commerce, just a simple trip to true Cretean nature. We enjoyed our stay at this beach the most. You can chill there for hours or you can swim or snorkel around.
It can be quite windy and sun shines strongly whole day. There are no "sunbeds with umbrellas for 15€" so you have to find natural shades which can block the wind also. Be sure to bring enough water and snacks.
Parking is challenging but our car rental guy said that Kedrodasos is okay and I trusted him. You can park by the road or you can try to find free space closer to the beach entrance (there is a parking area). Even during peak time, we find many free spaces in the actual parking area (it looks like many drivers were not brave enough for the rocky offroad or just assumed that the parking was full already). Just drive as close as possible to the end of the road. And enjoy the paradise after 10-15min walk down the rocky road (not really...
