In the past Tamilnadu was divided in to 5 regions such as Chera Nadu, Chola Nadu, Pandiya Nadu, Kongu Nadu & Thondai Nadu. Today's Coimbatore District, Nilgris District, Erode District, Salem District, Karur Taluk and Palani Taluk was called Kongu Nadu.

The word Kongu Nadu itself denotes the composition of temples in the region. Even though there are so many temples in the District .This temple is situated in the South Ukkadam(Arulmigu lakshmi narashima swamy temple),Coimbatore .

The Ukkadam BusStand is Near To Temple.This temple is walkable distance from Coimbatore Railway Station, collectrate and Police Commissioner Office.The Coimbatore Airport is 13 kilometer from the Temple.

The temple is situated near to one of the stringent spaces in the city(unplanned) so driving is cumbersome, have to make more turns and stops to near the temple. The road which has entry point(for now) to the temple is narrow for two big cars, could be reached in after the traffic passes.There are ample parking spaces for two wheelers, four wheelers are on the moderate side though. The temple is on renovation, there are works going on every corner, Once it is completed we could watch the innate beauty of the temple and we could reach the temple from multiple sides. There is a special pooja conducted on every month based on the celestial calendar. There are only few temples for the deity in and around the city and this is one of them.

Devotees are not treated equally here very high partiality is seen for a single lady devotee whenever she visits they stop the pooja and let her inside till the god statue and give her alone kumkum and chandan. I have been noticing this incident for almost 14th week and this very bad as a devotee everyone should be treated equally. When the special lady comes all the ayyars will go and work as if she is their Boss. Very bad. Last week incident was very horrible they made us wait for more than 15 minutes.
