One may reach from Junagadh to Bhavnath ropeway station up to 6 km by two or four wheeler. The auto shuttle rickshaw can be picked by paying 20 rs up from Kalwa to rope way station Bhavnath. Nearby rope one small path of black stone towards old Girnar steps walk one km in a dense forest area up to Girnar steps. From the entry forest check post exists. If any plastic material is with you then you have to drop it here including a water bottle also. From Girnar an old step, one has to climb 500 steps up to the sign board of Jaya Shanker mahadev along the way. From here a small path passes through the jungle in dense forest and stream. Sign of white color arrow on black stones for direction up to jatashanker mahadev i.e. 30 minutes walk. Best holy place dedicated to Lord Shri Bhagwan Shiva with nearby locations of water streams passing from Girnar which can attract young people for bathing and enjoying a full day. This temple is surrounded with greenaries and lap of nature. Natural stream just like Himalayas stream attract to every age people during rainy season. Shivling is under the big black rock and countinuely abhishek done by naturalflow of water. Saint Shri Bhagwandas, Saint Shri Ramdas and many more sadhus and bhagatsvare staying here and worship here for a long period. Devotees mostly visit on week end or in shravan mother. This is a really awesome place for holy Pooja or meditation place for Bhagwan Lord Shiva. Weekend visit with family and friends for taking bath in natural waterfall have darshan of Lord Shiva in have experience of dense forest area and enjoying nature. Near this temple Raj Rajeshwar shaktipith also here where mostly teaching and meditation of religiouse path is doing. People are not allowed in this. Earlier at 1500 steps of Girnar hill from bhavnath , one track was there for the jatashanker mandir but now it is not accessible. One can reach to Bharatvan, Hanuman dhara, Girnar gufa, sheshavan etc by climbing 3500 steps , further 1500 steps for sevadas Ashram , gaumukhi ganga etc. further 800 steps to be track for Ambaji temple. Jain temples are 200 steps from Gau mukhi ganga. Any one can visit this place during day period only. Night halt is not allowed. There is no entry fees. Parking of vehicle at ropeway side. Some stalls are exist along the route for dring, buttermilk and ready breakfast. You have to take food with you. Being a moderate track of Shri jatashanker Mahadev, one can enjoy nature beauty. Divine Serenity and Sacredness at Jatashankar Mahadev Mandir, Junagadh Girnar

My recent visit to Jatashankar Mahadev Mandir in Junagadh Girnar left me in awe of the divine serenity and sacredness that permeates this holy place. The temple is a true testament to the rich spiritual heritage of the region.

Jatashankar Mahadev Mandir, nestled in the scenic surroundings of Girnar, offers a tranquil and picturesque setting for devotees and visitors alike. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one of the sacred abodes of the deity.

The moment I stepped foot inside the temple complex, I was overwhelmed by a sense of calmness and spirituality. The air was filled with devotion and the fragrance of incense, creating an atmosphere that encouraged deep introspection and reverence.

The architecture of Jatashankar Mahadev Mandir is remarkable. The intricate carvings and sculptures depicting various deities and mythological stories showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of the artisans. The temple's design and layout are meticulously planned, ensuring a seamless flow of devotees and a space conducive to prayer and worship.

The presence of the holy Jatashankar cave within the temple complex adds to its allure. Devotees can explore the cave and witness the natural rock formation that resembles the matted locks of Lord Shiva. This unique feature enhances the spiritual experience and deepens the connection with the divine.

The temple priests and staff were welcoming and accommodating, providing guidance and assistance to visitors. Their devotion and dedication to maintaining the sanctity of the temple were evident, creating an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.

For anyone seeking solace and spiritual rejuvenation, Jatashankar Mahadev Mandir in Junagadh Girnar is a must-visit. The tranquil surroundings, divine presence, and the overall sacredness of the place make it a haven for devotees and spiritual seekers.

Jatashankar Mahadev temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and located on the Mountain Girnar in Junagadh. Devotee can reach this temple via old stairs of Giranar, after climbing few stairs; this temple is located on the right side of road in huge cave. It is believed that this is spontaneous and extraordinary Shivlinga. This Shivlinga is naturally bathed by the water flowing from the Girnar. Thus this temple is perfect combination of spirituality and nature. It is Abode of peace. From the lowland of Girnar, this temple is 500 steps up. You have to walk in to lush green gir forest. You can enjoy local food items on the way to temple such as green tamarind, hot and sour Kawa, forest fruits, Boiled sweet corns and much more. Please Beware of Monkeys. Group of monkeys are waiting for you to welcome you. If you are carrying any food items in your hands, it may a chance that monkeys can snatch away the food packets.

Points to be considered: When you are in monsoon season keep dry food items with you. Take umbrella or raincoat with you. Take minimum luggage load. Extra pair of clothes, if you want to take bath in water fall. Lunch is available at temple free of cost. Wear sports shoes as road is slippery during rainy season. Mobile network may be hampered. Avoid to take samll children or else extra precautions should be taken. Don't throw any waste in the forest. Maintain the full decorum of Forest area.

You can spent whole day with your family. It will give you experience of...

Wow ! Beautiful place...secluded in the forest. Being a shiva temple its perfect for adventurous walk. Its a long walk into the Gir forest, around 3 km walk. Its all full of snakes and insects and other animals which we saw during out trek to jatashankar temple at the end. There's no sign board for directions though cement stairs are built halfway but rest is all walk is on rocks and mind it, its a walk between big rocks, shrubs and big trees. We saw black colour big snake which suddenly came in front of us, also we even witnessed a snake hanging from tree just right infront of us. Also there are alot of insects which approached/attacked us during out trek. But at the end, trek was beautiful and worth. Very small temple and a mahant's family live there. Mahant's family told us various stories about snakes and lions coming to temple and all that kinda scary stories. You shall also find alot of Langoors on the way and in temple area. And behind temple there's s small waterfall, where people come to take bath. Its always preferable to visit this place in monsoon as usually you shall find mild water flowing between rocks and that too with small snakes and insects. Anyways do come this place and visit nature at best.
