Chose this place as a spot to find peace and energy before my birthday. As we live on the hills above Camaiore, this is a perfect place to have a relaxing walk in the atmosphere of absolute peace, quiet, as well as visual, historical, and botanical harmony. The villa and the Pan house are gems. What can I say, even sanitary facilities are carefully renovated to be a valid part of the museum, with it's history
To mention, among other things, is the cafe, which is a pleasant place with a nice staff, and great tasty snack options. The coffee is wonderful.
One thing that we would like to bring to the kind attention of the management, is that the garden works, though might be necessary to be done during the visiting hours, should be tried to be done without disturbing the visitors. What was expected to be the most relaxing and enjoyable part of the walk for me - the camelias and the lake paths, was ruined by the loud sounds of garden instruments and unpleasant smell of gasoline chainsaws. Might be disregarded, but it lasted for about an hour and was absolutely upsetting, as the works were near the cafe and the lake. The valid option would be to choose electric chainsaws and instruments for the visiting hours, as there are valid analogues nowadays.
Otherwise, will be happy to return and to purchase the seasonal tickets...
Read moreSome of the beautiful villas I've visited in the last period. I reserved tickets over the app and payed couple od days before the tour. You will be needing 2 hours to see whole place inside out, maybe more. Villa works from 10h -18h and by that time you need to exit the state. So don't come after 4 if you want to see everything. Pay attention to the flora at the gardens, there's lots of unique plants that are very beautiful to see and smell, especially in the spring and summer. Ticket costs 18€ and you get to see all outside including villa and a museum. Parking is behind the villa, there's a sign, just follow it. You shoud plan to go when it's not too hot, think spring is the perfect time but if you want in the summer, avoid those hot months like July and August, it can be exhausting to walk around. If you are here at that time, bring lots of water and some hat. Comfy shoes recommended, there's lot of gravel stone so some sandals or slippers are not good. Must visit if you...
Read moreWow, what an unexpected surprise! We came to this villa without any idea how great it would turn out to be. Magnificent place! Wonderful gardens, beautiful and very well maintained. But the villa itself and the museum in the clock house - amazing! What a great job the new owners have done to restore this all!
I personally am very interested in how the swimming pool will look when/if they restore it. Cause even when abandoned it looks fascinating.
And oh my god I am virtually in love with Mimi! If there was a novel about her, I'd definitely read it. For now I will just show everyone her hand written music catalogue every time when people mock me for being too organized. She is an inspiration!
All together - I loved this place! This was the highlight of my week near Lucca.
Kudos to the new owners! Tack! Большое спасибо, нам безумно понравилось, такая красота и...
