I checked out Pasar Karat in Johor Bahru recently, and I gotta say, it's pretty cool. Parking on the roadside can be a bit of a headache, but the place itself is worth it. I'd give it four stars for sure. They've got all kinds of stuff to check out. And let me tell you, when there's a festival happening, it's a whole different scene. The place gets packed with people, and it's like a party. The street food there is mouthwatering, and you can find some seriously unique stuff to buy. Plus, it's conveniently close to the City Square shopping mall. So, you can hit up the market for some local flavor, and if you're in the mood for some mainstream shopping, just head over to City Square. Soak in the local vibes at the market, grab some souvenirs, munch on some tasty snacks, and when you're ready for some air-conditioned shopping, City Square is right around the corner. Yeah, parking can be a pain, but with the lively atmosphere and all the cool things to see, it's totally worth it. I'd recommend giving it a shot!

Good, active and decent night market in Johor Bahru. In one intersection there are shops where pets like cats, mice and such are sold. It is near the Little India area.. almost behind the Little India in Johor Bahru. Some vendors realize that you are tourists, then he double or triple the price. So bargain and buy. Or just keep moving to another shop. I felt the shops in the main intersection offer good price than the ones in the lanes. Some shops are good to buy dresses... but find the prices are same as in malls. There is a bad smell as you walk near the canal there. Hence I am giving one star less. My experiences: Like coolers was 15RM in the intersection shop while it was RM50 in the lane shop. Mainly eating eating eating!!! Lots of food varieties to try out. But i just chose to go with fruits... and the fruit shop I bought also instantly the guy said its 20rm and the girl said its 10rm. When i stare at them, the guy left and they gave it to me for 10rm.

Was there on a Sunday evening around 7 pm and most of the vendors were still in the midst of setting up their concessionaires. A myriad of retail and F & B items on offer to both locals and tourists alike. Most retail prices were reasonable, but bargaining for a good deal is advised for certain retail items. Caveat Emptor: all of the branded merchandise here are not genuine items. Some clothing vendors here offer on the spot alterations for a nominal and very reasonable fee, and your items would be ready for collection within fifteen minutes to half an hour. My wife purchased 2 pairs of jeans and requested them altered. We collected the items around 20 minutes later after we finished browsing other parts of the Pasar Malam (Night Market).

Just nicelah the place and the environment... A lot of cheap stuff can buy... Perfume.. watch, socks, shirts and foods. All seller not hard selling... if you dont want they will let you go.. If you buy their goods, they will happy! Original item? Not all lah... don't expect so high coz its night market and cheap price.... but still good in quality Safety is good. I went many times with friends and family... no thief or pickpocket happen so far. The crowded is control and people still polite and understanding Have basking if you feel wanna rest after long journey walking and window shopping. Good place to go!

Quite a small area. And most of the things sold here seem to be either of bad quality or more expensive than other places selling the exact same thing. Did some henna art from the shop nearest the entrance. The sign board stated rm5. When i asked the lady, she told me it was for kids, and that for adults it's rm10. However, when i paid for mine, the lady only gave me rm35 when i gave her a rm50 note. Which means they charged me rm15?! Be wary when doing henna tattoos at this place... give the exact change and make sure of the price being starting to do the tattoo. Wouldn't visit this place again.
