Freedom Camping Cox's Bay Reserve — Attraction in Waitematā

☆☆Visited today, after midday. 100% overseas tourists breaking the rules. Still there after 9am. And more than a doz...ALL NON self contained vehicles. Just shows they don't care about the residents of other countries. Nowhere left for families to park, but they don't care. Residents, please complain and get officers out. NZ residents only here from now on, in their legal vehicles: #Three Self Contained vehicles only can stay here. For one night only and leave by 9am the next morning#. #Follow our countries rules.#To the German tourist who bragged about staying here for two wks, your disrespectful actions are exactly why NZ travellers are losing freedom...

Lovely place to stay, best one of Auckland! I could stay here weeks so awesone. Sadly there are some people from the scouting club that feel to priviledged to walk an extra 150 meters if to many people camp here. Writing false reviews to demotivate camping here as it is completely safe. No (weird) people around as it is located in a very priviledged neighberhood. Looking forward to my return to Auckland with this spot in particular. And what a views during sunset from...

Only 3 spaces are available for freedom camping. Many people are abusing this, and parking in the other spots. The local scout group (and rowing club) needs this car park for our youth to come and go. Anybody who parks with a campervan outside of the designated 3 parks will be reported to council, and fines will follow. Be warned! There are no toilet facilities here. We will not tollerate anyone using our greenspace to go toilet where...
