Had a few days off work and really needed to chill and swim. Found these guys on Instagram and decided to check them out. Went there on a Thursday as I didn't want to deal with the weekend crowd. Paid for entry online and even paid for a cabana (wrong move!). Paying online entry fees saves you #500 on the ticket so that was good. I should have gone there first before paying for a cabana cos I ended up not even using it! Sigh. Apart from that though, the whole place was on point! The decor and entire set up of the place was just really nice and contemporary. Sat at the Flying Fish Arena where there was pool. Had my meal served poolside while I chilled and read a book. Waiters were nice and helpful. Music steady pumping, getting you to groove a bit, lol! I hadn't been in a pool for over a year so it was good that their pool was only 1.2m deep. No jumping or diving in please! No babies allowed at the pool area at any time. No children allowed in the pool after 7pm. I didn't really go to the beach itself so I think I will have to have a repeat visit for that. I definitely recommend!

The Good Beach, Lagos epitomizes tranquility and leisure with its well-maintained grounds and array of amenities. Whether you're an individual seeking solitude, a family in search of bonding time, or a group of friends craving adventure, this beach caters to all. One of its standout features is the robust security presence and vigilant lifeguards, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for all visitors. While weekdays offer a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle, weekends see a slight increase in crowds and prices. Nevertheless, the Good Beach remains a top choice for those seeking respite. Indulge in a diverse culinary experience with the beach's great outlets, offering an array of delectable options to tantalize your taste buds. With an estimated budget of 20-30k per person, you get an affordable yet enriching experience. So, if you're longing for a beach retreat in Lagos boasting a serene ambiance and an abundance of activities, look no further than the Good Beach.

The beach is truly beautiful, just as described in pictures. However, the service was poor. The seafood platter that was sold for 22k was really laughable. It was unbelievable! The cocktails were poorly done and the presentation was bad. We were a group of 6, the food we ordered after rejecting the platter came separately. Some were over 1 hour apart. For context, the grilled fish ordered by two ladies were served first, they finished eating and the rest of us were kept waiting for our food. They later brought 2 burgers out of 3, leaving 2 other ladies without food. The 6th lady was served with cold chips and burger after the rest of us had finished eating. We all had to wait for her to eat before leaving the beach. Although picturesque, I doubt I’d be visiting again. I’m big on service and the service for me was bad. Note: it’s a common restaurant etiquette to serve a group of people at the same time. Not 1 person per hour.

The Terrible Beach. There are many reasons why I gave this beach 2 stars but I’ll keep it brief. My first qualm is that despite it being a beach, you can barely swim in said beach. Once the water gets to your mid-thigh, you are haggled by life-guards who will not allow you to go further. Please explain to me how I’m supposed to swim in water that comes to my ankles? Clearly, it’s the lifeguards who are unable to swim.

Secondly, the only pool that you could go in, inside the establishment, had broken tiles which resulted in only being able to swim in 1/8th of the pool. Clearly, they didn’t expect people to actually swim because the majority of the people here sat on their arse taking Instagram pictures the entire time instead of enjoying the place. What kind of dystopian world? What exactly am I paying for here? You can barely go in the seawater so you’re essentially just paying for sand. There is sand all over Nigeria - too much actually. What is so special about this sand? As soon as a child steps foot in the shallows (water that doesn’t even cover your feet) they are also haggled. This beach obviously has a target audience. If you are looking for actual fun, this is not the place for you. If you want good Instagram pictures, please come along because the scenery is quite beautiful. The staff were decent despite the ridiculous restrictions: one actually told me the swimming pool is not for swimming at one point. I was seriously confused as to what I paid for in that moment. Maybe ‘the terrible beach’ is too harsh, however, it is quite obvious to me why it’s called The ‘Good’ Beach and not The...
