The President of the Republic of Korea, also known as the Green House, reads Korean (Cheong Wa Dae, Blue House) in Korean. This is the workplace and rest of the current president of Korea. The Presidential Palace is located in Jongno District, Seoul, including the main office building and the auxiliary buildings. Main building, including Presidential Office, meeting room, Presidential residence. Additional quarters include the Office of the Presidential Secretariat, press center and reception hall. The Presidential Palace also has a large garden with lake and back garden in harmony with Mount Bukak in the back of the Presidential Palace. The main building has elegant arched roofs, considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Korea. The roof of this main building is covered with about 150,000 green tiles in Korean style. Because of this unique detail, the building is called the Cheongwadae, which means the Green House. The location of the Presidential Palace today is a royal palace located in the south of the capital during the Goryeo period. In the Joseon era, Gyeongbok Palace was built as the main palace and it became the royal palace. During the Japanese occupation of Korea, in 1910, the Korean government used Gyeongbok Palace as the government representative office. Upon meetup on the location, we, visitors, rode a bus to get to the location but instructed not to open the window curtains (Security 1). Hopping-off the bus and towards the entrance, there were a lot of security officers. Bags will be thoroughly checked and cameras will be tested as zoom-in lens are not allowed (Security 2).
