“Yushan National Park” is located at the intersection of Nantou, Chiayi, Kaohsiung, and Hualien counties. It is a high-altitude national park. It has an elegant landscape, lush greenery, lush forests, rich ecology, and abundant rainfall. It is the base of several major rivers in Taiwan. The birthplace is also a selected section of the Zhongshi Mountains. One-third of Taiwan's famous mountains, including the famous Tianshan City and Xiuguluan Mountain, the highest peak in the Central Mountain Range, are all drinking wine in the city. in mountain national park.

If you feel that the mountains are inaccessible, you can start at the recreation areas first, especially the Tatajia Recreation Area near Alishan in the north of the park and the Meishan-Yakou section of the Nanheng Highway at the south end. Tatajia Recreation Area features Lulin Mountain and Linzhi Mountain as its main landscapes, plus leisure trails on the saddle of Linzhi Mountain and Tatajia Saddle, as well as several nearby trails. From the tops of Lulin Mountain and Linzhi Mountain, you can overlook the majestic Yushan Mountains, Alishan Mountains and the central and southern sections of the Central Mountains. They are the best places for ordinary tourists to receive mountain baptism. The trail between the saddle of Linzhi Mountain and the saddle of Tatajia Mountain has vigorous forests and alpine flowers. Walking along it, you can fully appreciate the characteristics of the Yushan Trail.

The Meishan-Yakou section of the Nanheng Highway is a landscape highway, providing tourists with pleasing mountain images. Since this area is at the southern end, you can appreciate the endless momentum of the Yushan Mountains from different angles. Nanheng is located at Meishan Pass, the starting point of Yushan National Park, with an altitude of about 1,000 meters. When it reaches the pass, it suddenly rises by more than 1,000 meters. Due to changes in altitude, the climate, rainfall, plant landscape, and animals that use it as their habitat have changed. With a richer appearance.

In addition, Yushan National Park has restored the Guanshan Mountain Crossing Ancient Trail from Zhongzhiguan to Tianchi and opened it to tourists. There are forests of juniper trees beside the ancient road, and several mountain streams run down the hillside. During the walk, you will feel that the air is quite moist, and a considerable number of wild animals also live in the park.

In short, this is the largest national park in Taiwan. It nurtures water sources, mountains, and alpine flora and fauna. It supports the life artery of the island and also nurtures the endless...

This is a high altitude national park. It’s absolutely stunning. It’s got great trails and hikes here with magnificent views. These are definitely different types of mountains from back home in Canada.

Please be respectful and keep your trash on you until you find a garbage bin to preserve our wildlife, water, and land. If you’re lucky enough you’ll see monkeys. Specifically Formosan Rock Macaques. Also know as Taiwanese Macaque. Don’t feed them and don’t carry food in your hands. They are smarter than you think. Very clever.

That day it was pouring rain so hard. The air felt crisp, cold, and refreshing just like Canada. Love the high altitudes. If you’re not a wilderness type of person who enjoys the rawness of nature, in high altitudes, this isn’t the...

Beautiful place with amazing mountains and hiking. Very well maintained trails. Pretty wild and minimally inhabited, so you can easily find yourself a long long way from the nearest bottled water or food so come prepared.

Roads are good but do not expect it to be easy or straightforward to get to or get around by public transport (especially if you don't speak mandarin or local languages/don't have a local to help you). It seems you can get almost anywhere by public transport, but there may only be one or two buses per day.

Stunning views,...

Top summit of Taiwan, no need to add anything more !. Yushan climb is really great, from start to finish. Many climbers consider that booking the entrance in the park is a bottleneck, but if you do not book one night at Paiyun lodge and do the climb in one day, it's easier to get the permit. That "one day climb" is for sure, a long day (like 26 km trail, with 1400 altitude elevation), but it's really doable for any trained hiker (and good weather conditions !).
