Read moreGo in the evening, relax on the beach for a while, and then stroll among the stores and restaurants. There's something for the whole family to enjoy at La Mer. If you're coming for the beach, arrive a little early so you can find a parking spot quickly.
Please be aware that visitors to La Mer are not permitted to bring their own food or beverages. You won't find any of the usual food court brands here, either. Because certain activities are only available in a given direction, you should explore the entire area. What irritated me is that the area where you may sit and enjoy the view of the beach is full of smoke and cigarettes.' The cost of renting sun chairs was extremely expensive. The outside showers were fee-based. It is provided completely for free on other beaches. There is a free and paid play area. Parking in La Mer is highly pricey! They will charge at least 20 dirhams per hour. Valet parking costs 55 dirhams. There are basement parking choices. Parking is free if you spend more than 100 dirhams. La Mer might be added to the list of places to go for a luxury meal from open restaurants.
Hawa Hawa, La Mer's outdoor trampoline park, Roxy theatre and Laguna Waterpark needs to be considered during your visit here.
There are a few stalls where teens and adults can try their luck at the games too ! If you're lucky, you'll be able to attend a stage performance or a DJ night like this for free! Entry to La Mer...
Read moreFor those who haven't been there yet, it's "a day out sorted for you" type of place with beach, restaurants and retail, all within walking distance. We went in the afternoon, around 3.00pm. We started at the beach, while the sun was still up. I always go for a sunbed so got one from Sea Breaze. It costs AED 100 for a sunbed, a towel and an umbrella (the towels were all sealed in plastic). After 4.00pm, you got them at 50% off. The beach was a bit crowded proving once again that it is a very popular spot. Laguna Waterpark is also there but we opted out this time. Check the Stories to see how we got scared by a "sea creature" hiding in a shell :D The beach has all the facilities: toilets, showers (paid and free), changing rooms (not too many, we went to change in the toilets behind the restaurants as there was a long queue). Once the sun set, we moved to Hawa Hawa. It's a playground for kids, with some inflated doms, where kids can jump and run until they are ready for dinner. You can buy tickets for 20 min or for 45 min. Can't remember the price for the 20 min but for 45 min it costs AED 40. They also give you a pair of socks. Sanitizer dispensers are dotted around the playground. The kids must be supervised by an adult and the parents can sit at tables or on benches. Or just join to jump if you are in shape. For dinner, we went to O'Donner, a...
