Leicester had their heritage open days running from Friday 6 - Sunday 15 September 2024. I visited Belgrave Hall on 11th September. I entered through the back door of the hall. I was in a group of 17 people. There were 2 guides taking us around. We started by going out to see the gardens and at the front of the house. We went back into the house to explore the ground floor rooms. We then went up to the 1st floor rooms. We returned downstairs and then went to the kitchen area. We split up and went down to the celler, which was quite low in height. We returned to the kitchen area. Once we had all gathered, we went out to a pebbled yard where the horse stables used to be. Time went very quickly, about 90 minutes. Be aware that the tour does include climbing a flight of stairs and going down into the cellers. I really enjoyed it. We visited for an Easter special for children. There was a sort of treasure hunt in the gardens and lots of craft activities for children. Children were given an art pack for £3. It was good but spoilt somewhat by the rain. It was very popular - as a result I had to park some distance away. I booked in advance but you could pat cash on the door
