Belgrave Hall

This used to be a lovely place to visit, when i was a child, and then when my teenager was small. I took my youngest yesterday after not having been for 13 years, and it was such a huge disappointment, in the hall itself, the downstairs rooms are just beige meeting rooms. This wasn't why we had attended anyway, as its clear from the website this isn't a museum as such anymore, but we wanted to enjoy the gardens. What a joke! Overgrown, and nothing special at all. more stinging nettles and other weeds than anything else, couldn't see any herbs or food being grown, the nettles and thistles and forget me nots have just taken over everything inside the greenhouses and out side in the garden. And don;'t get me started on the price per child for "crafts" incredibly basic and a cost of £5 per child, in a cost of living crisis, in a poor area of Leicester. What were you thinking. Complete waste of bus fare, two disappointed kids, never going back again. Newark Houses Museum Gardeners need to pop over the Belgrave Hall sharpish.
