Crail Museum is a joy to visit. So much history within the walls of the Museum. The museum is ran by volunteers who just simply have a passion for all things Crail. The volunteers are full of such interesting stories of this lovely village and the villagers.
If you are looking for your connection by family to Crail, the museum is the place to start your search. If you are looking for more information on the base, the museum can help you and if you just want to get to know Crail, the museum should be your first stop.
The gift shop has a new look which is inviting. Nice for the villagers or visitors to but a special item for self or as a gift for someone special.
Wonderful People! Lovely Village even if Officially a township. Work here in season volunteering and we get great reviews, well maintained and busy, please expect to maybe have a walk while waiting or go for coffee if there are parties taking up slots. Most time 10-20 min wait if that and only in summer when busy :-). Peigie looks after it with the staff and with no reference I often spell Peigie’s name wrong I am sorry Peigie :-/ :-). The museum is heavy on military items and fishing history alongside the old Kirk etc. it has great feedback truly it does, we are compliment led on the conditions and staff often so please see us and love Crail! Xx
An excellent starting point for any visit to Crail, this small free museum has five rooms spread across two floors where you can learn about the history of Crail and its people. The displays are changed annually but usually include rooms devoted to Crail Airfield and to the history of the Royal Burgh of Crail, plus other special exhibitions on particular aspects of Crail - recent exhibitions have included the "Kingo Family of Weavers" and "Crail Shops". The museum also houses a small shop and tourist information point.
