One of the flight instructer's behaviour was absolutely awful and appauling towards my brother today as we where there for skydiving. The flight instructer who was with my brother inside the chamber was very helpful to my brother but the tall slender one with blond hair and tattoos on his arm showcased terrible behaviour towards my youngest brother just because he was struggling to follow his instructions while in the air chamber. He was so inpatient towards him and showed awful annoyance so bad that he made it visible to the other visitors and participants waiting to take part in skydiving event which was absolutely disgusting. My brother is 7 year's old and is Autistic and this flight instructer had the nerve to to tell my father that my little brother didn't do well and after my father told him that my brother is Autistic that's when he chose to show kindness but it came late. So what if my brother didn't do well the main part was to have fun and this was a disappointment for me. I'm writting this post to inform to leisure venue called 'We are Vertigo ' that they should treat all people with respect, equality and show care to people where they have any form of condition or disability. My brother shouldn't have to wear a label showing that he is Autistic so as to receive respect. He shouldnt have ask for it to receive it, it must be given to him as my parents payed for him to receive the entertainment that this leisure centre offers. My little brother is very intelligent, he's only 7 years old and he may not do things as other people do but he shouldn't be judged for that. The staff at the leisure centre venue called 'We are Vertigo' must work with youth clubs dealing with special needs children and adults so that they can offer the care and respect needed to all people whether they have a disability or don't. Other than this bad experience two of the other flight instructers including the one who assisted me in air chamber were lovely and offered great service. But that other one needs to be reprimanded that I have mentioned early in the text as he makes this venue not suitable for for all people. Because my family and I travelled all the way from the Republic of Ireland only for my little brother to be given horrendous service by this particular staff member. This has hurt my family terribly as today it was my birthday and we were devasted by how my little brother was treated. This entertainment leisure centre must make changes if this is how they treat people with special needs. They should be oughtely ashamed...
Read moreThe first time ever here took 8 yr old grandson. He loved it and enjoyed it so it was worth the money. Thankfully, my daughter went into the bouncy part, so i didn't have to spend the next week crippled from over exertion. From an adult view, though the reason for only giving 3 stars was it seemed a bit run down, which for £20 per scone, child or adult plus £2 per pair of socks which are compulsory then it shouldnt be! £20 for 2 coffees and 2 lukewarm paninis and 2 rice krispie cakes. Toilets are quite grim, akin to an old mans bar, foyer was dark and had no signage with pricing, no signage or.menu in cafe area. Upstairs and obviously lots.of sweaty kids running around but could definitely do with better ventilation. Sweat and farts were the gist of the smell. Only when we looked at the website did we realise that they had a package deal, so we asked to upgrade. 1hr in bouncy part, all fine, suitably tuckered out kid. Across to ski area and no sky diving available or ski slope so had to be content with the rock climb and harness walkway thing. Charlie did enjoy it but would have been better, obviously, if everything had been available, we came from Derry/donegal and Charlie the grandson hails from west meath so not likely for us to be rushing back too often. Im a former hospitality manager, so the little details regarding the experience of all those visiting still make me critique places such as We are Vertigo. Close to Derry, so visit the Bowlimg Alley regularly, which is a much larger complex, 10 times busier but is so much cleaner and better run. Staffed properly also, staff were friemdly and polite, decently turned out but there were not enough available so they were under pressure at We Are Vertigo. Very young staff with no apparent older staff around, so I have to say they coped very well but not as quickly or professionally as the price tag should have dictated. All in all, it's a good place with exceptional attractions simply let down by its feel.of being slightly run down and not being as clean as it could be. Kids won't see these things, so they will enjoy the experience, but the adults who likely are paying and having to sit around in less than excellent areas have time to see the flaky paint and sticky handrails etc. Defintely would not take much to make it more welcoming and improve it, maybe start with some decent signage, that should boost your sales sufficiently to help improve the other stuff. Not affiliated with a local signage company or the Bowling alley in Derry just...
Read moreso today was our first time going to we are vertigo with My daughter who's 5. we first met with a friendly reception and were told to go ahead into the briefing room. we go through to the briefing room, we're the place was absolutely freezing, no staff member in the briefing room, we couldn't hear the briefing video as the other guests were all talking over it, so I missed what was in the video, my child then went on into the infaitable park were me and my partner watched from the cafe above. Staff members in the park stood around talking one girl actually had her earphones in and stood talking to another staff member nearly the full hour session. The staff member at the cafe looked as if she didn't want to be there, no smile, no politeness, just cold. we took a table then beside the glass barrier to watch down on my child playing. when we sat down the DIRT of the glass and floor around me was horrible honestly hadn't been cleaned from the night before the food was stuck to the floor and there was actually moldy food. the dirt was Caked under the glass barrier all along the ledge. the seat had loads of food and dirt all down the cracks and sides. I was ILL. we then left to go get food as there was none in the cafe. we came back to attend 'the monster mash' which was in the log cabin were the climbing area is, again absoloutly freezing my hands are feet were froze. might aswell been sitting outside. ,The receptionist couldn't have been nicer (she was an angel) the best thing about the experience was meeting her. We then proceeded into the climbing hall we're staff again looked like they didn't want to be there, there was a nice boy that did the facepainting, but apart from that not 1 staff member engaged with kids that I seen. the face painting was in a freezing cold room no heaters. there wasn't a good atmosphere at all, we waited nearly an hour on the pizza and then we left. The ground the counter tops and the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. the place looks like it hasn't seen a mop or brush in months, I used to work in a play centre myself and the level of cleanliness was UNACCEPTABLE. I went in to the bathroom with my daughter (girls and boys) were there was hardened poo all over the toilet roll holder (it was defiantly not fresh) . I WAS SICK everywere, honestly such a traumatising experience. I'm waiting on my child coming down with something that's how dirty the place was. we will...
