I absolutely love this park. It's right next to my home, it's close to the nature and at the same time close to the Romford town or even city center. I love to ride bicycle there, ride through many different trails. You may meet horses or cows or dogs and other animals. I love to go for run in this park, for morning walk. If you spend some more time there, you will figure it out, how lovely it is to be there. I advise you to check photos and just go and find the place you found most attractive on the photos posted. You may find the park of fairies or some swing. This surely not all, just go and see!
It's very comfortable to exercise in this park. Whether you put gymnastics rings around some branch of a tree or just use it as a pull-up bar it's up to you!
So far park feel very safe, from time to time you can see police guards riding on horses there.
There is no big car park, but there are various small parking lots around from different entrances into the park, so you just have to find and choose one that suits you the most.
Opening hours are generally from 8am to 8pm, but it never happened to me that it was closed anytime and since it's park, it can't really be closed.
Buses no. 375 and 294 will drive you close enough so you can step out of the bus and be in the park almost...

Havering Country Park is a great spot for peaceful forest walks and a refreshing escape into nature. It offers plenty of charm, with well-trodden woodland paths and open grassy areas that make it ideal for a calming stroll or a quiet break from city life.
I find the benches overlooking the flatlands especially peaceful and quiet—they’re perfect for sitting and soaking in the scenery. Sometimes it can get a little busy, especially on weekends, but that’s understandable given how pleasant the park is. It’s particularly popular with dog walkers, with lots of open space and wooded trails where dogs can roam freely.
The forest paths give you that immersive countryside feel, making it easy to forget you’re still in London. One of the park’s highlights is seeing the horses and cows that graze in the nearby fields. Watching them resting or wandering adds a rural charm that makes the place feel like a slice of countryside tucked within the city.
Generally, the park stays quiet during weekdays, making it a great place to unwind, reflect, or simply stretch your legs. Whether you’re visiting solo or with a dog or friend, Havering Country Park is a lovely green escape well...

There are cows grazing during the summer. Jays and Muntjac deer are common. Walk along Wellingtonia Ave the longest avenue of giant Wellingtonia trees in the country. It used to be the driveway to a large 19 century house which is no longer there (as in much of Essex). This is also the area of Havering Palace the residence of Kings and Queens dating back to medieval times. Fabulous views from Mud Hill over London, a good...
