Swakeleys Park in Ickenham is a pleasant green space perfect for a relaxing day out. Although named Riverside Walk Public Open Space, don't expect a river; instead, you'll find a well maintained park offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The park boasts wide open spaces, making it ideal for families, dog walkers, and anyone looking to stretch their legs. The paths are well suited for leisurely strolls, and there's plenty of room for kids to run around and play. The mature trees provide ample shade, making it a comfortable spot even on sunny days.
Swakeleys Park makes up for it with its tranquil atmosphere and well kept grounds. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy a picnic, or simply take a break in nature. If you're in the Uxbridge area and looking for a quiet park to visit, Swakeleys Park is definitely worth...
Read moreWalked round the park with the baby in a pram and my elderly father. Its nice enough. Drawback being the path. Theres one path. On one side is meant for bikes, the other is for walking, however, thats not taking into account both way foot traffic. Needs a bigger path or another path to be able to have space to stroll and not get in peoples way or have people block your way.
The river beside is nice, lots of ducks, but its very much open so be warned if you have a child whose likely to wander. Nothing stopping them going in.
Theres a playground at the far end, which seemed fine, four lovely benches around a monument/memorial thing.
Theres another playground thats under construction.

There's a paved footpath running along the edge of the river, which is well shaded, and free of potholes. The path is split; half for pedestrians and the other half...
