Among countless amazing places in Alaska, Hallo Bay and Katmai are some of the most extraordinary. Whether you take a day trip by float plane from Homer or Kodiak, or spend months there aboard an adventure yacht, a visit to Hallo Bay and Katmai will produce a lifetime of incredible memories.

During months long visits in 2018, 2021, and 2022, I have had the privilege of seeing Alaskan brown bears, males, females, as well as cubs grazing, on sedge, clamming, picking apart a whale carcass, and working the salmon runs. Beaver lodges, sea otters, puffins, bald eagles moose, dolphins, Orcas, Humpback whales – so much wildlife. The seascapes and volcanic landscapes are other-worldly – especially the very remote Valley of 10,000 Smokes.
