When I was being checked out by the casier, I noticed one item had a different price than the price it showed. I told the cashier, and she immediately gave me a very rude facial expression and gesture to follow her. (It was supposed to be $4.29 but was about to be charged $4.99.) She saw it was $4.29, I was right, and I told her that I wasnāt suppsed to come walk back here with her, and she gave me an EXTREMELY rude facial expression with her eyes AGAIN and kept the rude attitude. Then, we walked to the customer service desk area where the manager/daughter of the owner couple was. The manager said 1) the reason that they let customers follow the cashiers was because customers donāt believe the cashiers. - SO WRONG - In my case, I was right. You may do that when the customer was wrong, but not from the start. Donāt treat customers like that. Itās an insult to the customers. 2) I told the cashier was extremely rude and the manager said she was not doing that (so wrong to say that to me, like I'm not telling her the truth), so I told her she DID that and she was not doing that in front of her. (The cashier couldnāt say anything because she knew she was INTENTIONALLY being so rude.) The manager said she would apologize for the cashier (so wrong, that's why the casier keep her rudeness ) and the cashier was not feeling well (so wrong, should I be okay with her being rude because she's not feeling well????) I told her that I didnāt care, she was at work.
Iāve been coming to Hana World Market for nearly twenty years with my family since it used to be on Airport Blvd. Now, there are other MUCH BETTER Asian grocery supermarkets in town with better prices, service and products, why would people continue to shop at Hana World Market? I was trying to support a local grocery store that Iāve been coming for years.
Donāt treat customers poorly. Donāt cheat with the prices. Donāt hire or keep rude employees (especially in the front of the house). Train your employees to be polite to customers. Learn how to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found a cigarette butt inside a box of beansprouts that I bought. I went back next morning to get a refund, but when I told the manager of Hana World about the cigarette butt and asked for a refund, he refused to give a refund because he refused that the beansprouts were purchased from Hana World even after I showed the receipt. He doubted that I had put the cigarette butt inside the content so I could rip off from him. He was pissed at me and as he was finally giving my money back, he and the cashier, who's also the manager's wife, followed me as I walked out of the store and constantly yelled profanity at my back, insulting my family and religion. I never provoked them or anything; they simply just got mad because I "came in early in the morning to ruin their business". The manager showed absolutely no respect to the customer. I'm mad at myself for trying to be "the nice one" in an argument where one side doesn't even care to listen. This store treats you like a garbage can and I actually abhor myself for wasting a good chunk of my busy Sunday morning to try to deal with people that treat you with stereotype, disrespect, and negativity. I will never walk into this store ever again.
P.S. The quality of the foods here is also very bad; I only came to this place because it was convenient from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSimple family and locally Korean Asian Grocery store. During the snowpocalypse, they were serving the community even without electricity when everyone else was closed. They went old school with a manual cash register calculator, prices of goods via memory, and cash only. No price gouging just doing their best to stay open and help the community.
It's hard to compete with the chains, but it's a great place for a quick errand for your asian kitchen essentials: 25lb bags of rice, Asian condiments, better herb (dill, basil, thai basil, mint, asian herbs) prices and QUANTITY. They also have a pretty good fruit selection for things you can't always find at HEB, like jackfruit, plantains, cases of mango, sugarcane, etc. It has probably about 80-90% of the things I need for my Asian kitchen so I don't have to trek over to MT supermarket, ranch 99, or H-mart.
Also the food court is soon good. It's been busier since ramen del barrio opened up a stall there and I'm happy to see it bringing more business to the area. Hana Yoree is also a great place to eat.
All above are reasons they are a great gorcery store, but since their community support during the snowpocalypse of 2021, I'll forever be a supporter of this establishment....
