-bad service/experience- ordered 8:45 latest got food at 10pm -bad food (missing items/cooked incorrectly) -no acknowledgment from management and can’t leave a message

Full Details Below:

Felt compelled to leave a review after our HORRIBLE experience here last night. My boyfriend and I are visiting from the East Coast. His brother lives in Bakersfield and was excited to take is to Buck Owens for some local flavor.

Our reservation was at 8:30 we sat down and immediately ordered our entrees-literally with the wine because we were starving!

I put in an order of potato skins after they said the chili had nut oils in it (I’m allergic). We did not receive our entrees until 10pm!!!

While I was waiting for my entree I had already finished my first glass of wine and asked if there was something less acidic than the pinot noir. The waitress said the bartender recommended the cab.

Spoiler alert I NEVER got the cab and there was no more mention of it.

At this point all the dancing and dining patrons had left, including the band. We were out of our minds at this point hungry and all the lights were on. We were wondering if they were going to come out at all. McKenna, our server said she did not know what was going on with the kitchen (this is after she said the entrees were in the window a while ago) as the restaurant was “under new management”….

We were literally just about to leave when the food was finally brought out by another staff member. There were no green beans with my steak, my boyfriend’s brother’s steak was- bloody inside (ordered med rare) and the plates were piping hot. Since the food was cold we could clearly see the plate sitting out under the heater for a while and at this point old.

The server said she would go check on my green beans missing from my dish then proceeded to return and tell me they were all out. I just said I wanted no replacement at that point.

The server said she was sorry and she would talk to her manager. When we requested the check we were then given the full price bill and no manager said anything to us. We were so confused and surprised at how bad it was and since it seemed like most people left we also attempted to call today. Conveniently OPTION 2 for the MANAGER also doesn’t work and the options loop so you can’t leave a message.

To reiterate…it was totally a waste of our time and money. I felt so bad that our host wasting money taking us here and on his end, he felt bad he gave us a bad meal/experience on our short stay.

Recommend if you’re visiting to just take pictures outside and going elsewhere to eat and spend time. Maybe they should focus on being a bar only since the service and food is...

I am extremely disappointed in this place. I read a handful of reviews before going and I got the impression that it was a great place. I went in on a Saturday around 7pm without a reservation and said it was ok to sit at the bar. My wait was around 10 minutes which was more than acceptable in my opinion. The host didn't bring a menu and the bartender didn't offer one either. I told her I'm gonna have drinks and dinner on separate tabs. She returned with my drink but no menu. After a combination of looking at my phone and the Cadillac hanging in front of me for 20 minutes, a band started playing behind me. After a few more minutes I borrowed a menu from another customer and quickly made a decision. At 8pm, a different bartender took an order from a guy a few stools down. Thankfully this guy told him that I hadn't been waited on either so my order was taken next. I ordered the Don Rich - which is steak, 2 sides and biscuits. I asked if I could just double-up the green beans and add a salad (for $3 FYI). He just shook his head yes and walked away. My salad arrived quickly but with no silverware - that was 5 minutes later. After my salad was gone, the biscuits arrived! Really? Haha! My food arrived around 10 minutes later and I'm pretty sure I only got a single order of green beans cosidering how small the order was. They were tasty but just not plentiful. I just assumed that maybe they used the salad as a substitution instead so I didn't say anything. The steak is an 8-10oz in my estimation and was prepared medium as I requested. Unfortunately they use very high heat, or something, to cook it quickly - the outer layer is tough and chewy but the center was pink and somewhat bloody...Look, the place was packed, but from what I've read, that is normal. They have a very large staff on hand so they should be able to manage it fine. Besides my service, I heard them tell the nice guy 2 spots down that they were out of nachos (he wanted some version of nachos supreme) and then tell a young couple on my other side that they were out of 2 different beers that they had requested. Sounds like the manager in charge of stock needs retrained/replaced...The final issue that caused this 2-star rating is the $5.00 Admission Fee that was on my bill. I was never informed of any type of cover charge from anybody and I also was there 30 minutes before a band even started playing. That's pretty shady to be honest. Add all of this to the fact that a Captain and diet (regular rocks glass) is just over $8; and a small, not-so-well-prepared meal is over $30, and that ensures that I'll never return to this place. Bottom line: I do not...

Went here to see a Mark Chestnut concert with my husband we did not know when they took us to our seats my husband seat would be in a corner with a wall blocking the stage. When I purchased the tickets the lady informed me these were the tickets that they had left and if we wanted we would be able to stand. Was not told that if we wanted to stand we would be blocking other people that had seats. It is very rude to stand in front of people who have chairs to sit down. We had a manager come to our seat and was informed by him that it was sold out and they would not be able to move us to another table. Before the concert started we left went to Roadhouse had a very nice dinner and went home. That evening I had received a message from Mathy Hufford to call her back. I returned the call when I was trying to explain what had taken place she informed me that I should of waited at the table for her to come and talk to us. I informed her that we did not know she was coming to talk to us we had already talked to a manager and there was nothing that could of been done about us moving. She was very rude and keep talking over me. She also said well we had another table I could of moved you to but I didn't think you would like it because there was a beam that blocked the view of the stage. Maybe she should of about ask us and maybe show us to see if we would of liked it in the first place. She only cared that she had been involved with customer service for 20 something years and had worked there for 12 years and NO ONE has complained about that seat. Who wants to go to a concert and sit in the corner with a wall blocking the stage. I also worked in customer service for many years. You are suppose to listen to the customer complain and see what you can do to make them happy. She didn't know that while on the phone I gave the phone to my daughter because she was not listening to my complaint at all so she continued to keep interrupt and made it worse. She needs to go back and reread anything on being quiet and listening to the customer we are the ones that pay to see these shows and if we cannot see the stage we are not going to be very happy. I am sure she would not sit in the corner seats with her husband and be happy so why would they want a customer to sit in the seats. I have been to a lot of concerts in the front row and in the back but really in the corner is not a place to put a customer for a concert. They also did not make anything better by being very rude on the phone...

We finally made the trip from LA to Bakersfield to visit Buck Owen's Crystal Palace for Father's Day brunch. It was kind of a last minute idea, so we didn't have reservations. It did take quite a while, but they do have coffee, water and iced tea while you wait. The lesson here is... definitely make reservations. That's on me. Make sure you ask for a table, not the bar-like seating. Also, be aware that there is a second level as well where you climb 25 steps. It's fine... but that's a detail that is pretty relevant to some. The price at $36 was a bit excessive. I had read online it was $24 and other things that said $30 for special occasions, so the extra amount added up. I wish they put it on their website but I couldn't find that anywhere. So the value kind knocked a star off. The ambiance is outstanding! It's very cool. It's even cooler if you're a Buck Owens fan or Country music fan (which I'm not) - but even I thought the ambiance was pretty awesome. They have a full sized car behind the bar and the whole place is designed like something you're more likely to find in Disney World. There are Buck Owen artifacts and memorabilia everywhere. It's just a very unique, (I'll say it...) STRANGE place... but that in itself is worth the visit! The staff were all very friendly and for such a busy day like Father's Day, I thought they did a good job of staffing. Our waitress was lovely. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about... but as a Keto person, there was enough variety to get me full. But it's definitely not incredibly high quality. It was fine. Given its one of a kind atmosphere... I highly suggest you try this at least once! If you're in LA, make a day of it! Visit the two Antique Malls nearby - One is in an old Woolworths building that still has that facade and working luncheonette. The other, Merry Go Round Antiques, has an old mine shaft in the basement! There are plenty of things to do - Visit the Kern County Museum, The Living Museum (a zoo), or the Natural History Museum (which we haven't been to yet). There's plenty of other cool things too!

A place you can feel like you’re having dinner in an old Western. They have live music performances up on stage and for those of you who know your country line dances, the dance floor will help you knock some dust of the old boots. The live sound and lighting was professional, and on top of things throughout the production. The raffle grand prize was a signed guitar by Joey Kuntz. Food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. All the charm in California’s Central Valley is felt at this place! A place to take the whole family to enjoy the story this place tells. Buck Owens’ story is a fascinating one. Learn more about it on buckowens.com or I also found The High Gain podcast by hosts Ed Peterson and John Kieltyka tell barely credible stories about guitars, randomly describing the people, places and events surrounding the birth of each instrument—-their episode 126 The Harmony Buck Owens American

We were traveling to Los Angeles from Bay Area and stopped in Bakersfield for the night. We saw this establishment and decided to give it a try. This place is full of country memorabilia and history surrounding Buck Owens. There are multiple statues of country star legends. Super cool place. I highly recommend this place. They recommend reservations but we didn't know. We were a party of 2 and only had to wait about 15-20 minutes on a Saturday night, it was about 8:30. It was well worth the short wait. While we were waiting my son used the bathroom so they let him in and we knew we had to stay. Just watching the line dancing was entertaining. A local band called Stampede was playing, the were excellent. I had the burger and fries which was excellent and huge. Fries were hot and soooo good.
