This place is a fun stop but make sure you start upstairsif you go later on in the day.
We are from out of state and know alot about Mr.Brainwash so this was something we made it a point to go see knowing how cool it was going to be.
We got there around 4:45 (time stamp on the 1st picture I took when we walked in) on a Friday knowing it takes a little less then an hr to go through. We had the place to ourselves basically. The staff was nice but they closed the upstairs down at 5:30pm.
We were on our way up at 5:35pm and one of the workers who was closing it off said he was sorry but it was closed and he turned everything off already. I was like it's not even 6pm and it doesn't say that anywhere on the website. It was extremely disappointing. I asked if he could turn it back on and we would go through quickly. (I get it they wanna leave it's a Friday they are there every day but that is their job to be there and technically they were open). They wouldn't open it back up.
Side note... You would think if people are paying to get in to a museum and as a staff member you see they are entering the establishment about an hr before the place closed the staff would say something like start on the top floor because we close it at 5:30pm not 6pm. I get it was a Friday but the place closes at 6pm not 530pm. So annoying. It has been 2 weeks and I'm still mad about it.
One of the other workers who talked to us a few times was also standing there and asked if we paid full price to get in and I said yes. He asked if we could return the following day I said no. He said he was sorry and gave me 1 free ticket to go back. There were 2 of us. It will go unused though because again we live out of state and will not be going back.
The place was everything we expected and more but being shut out was aggravating and left a bad taste in my mouth as this was the part of our 2 days in Cali I picked to do. We even spent more then $100 in the gift store. We were out by 5:45 (time stamp on a picture I took after we left) and at that time they closed the museum and...
