First time kayaker, and new to SWFL. We wanted to take our kids for an experience at the park. I am afraid of alligators, spiders and generally would call myself an "indoorsy" person. I contacted Lovers key Adventures - which is the vendor that is set up to rent kayaks, canoes, etc within Lovers Key State Park. We had the best experience - I would highly recommend it - its about $70 for 4 hours for a double kayak. (there's a 4 hour minimum I believe) So, its not as pricey as you might think - and so the per hour, per person cost is $9. Heck, its just about that much if you park at Sanibel (per car, per hour). And this place is just terrific. Kayaks are clean, people are knowledgeable and friendly, and ready to help/educate. Saw 4 manatees - VERY CLOSE UP and ZERO alligators. I am looking forward to going back. They also sell beach stuff, bagged sundries, etc if you forgot to bring anything. I really think its a great service/business they do. Thank you for the...
Read moreI had the most amazing time kayaking with Lovers Key Adventures! The experience was absolutely unforgettable, as I got to paddle through beautiful, serene waters and was lucky enough to spot both manatees and dolphins up close. It was such a magical experience to witness these incredible animals in their natural habitat—something I’ll cherish forever.
What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service provided by Cole. From the moment I arrived, Cole was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. He made the kayak rental process smooth and stress-free, providing clear instructions and great tips to make the most of my time on the water. His knowledge and attention to detail ensured that my adventure was both safe and fun.
If you’re looking for a memorable outdoor experience, I can’t recommend Lovers Key Adventures enough. The scenery, wildlife, and top-notch customer service—especially from Cole—make it an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to come back for...
Read moreWhere to start? We have visited FMB many times and this time we decided to finally explore Lover's Key State Park and found Adventures shop. There is a tram that takes and your beach gear to the beach! (Well, 1,000 ft from the beach, but who is measuring?) Tim, one of the tram drivers, was so helpful! I had my mother (8 weeks post knee replacement) and 11 year old daughter with me. We rented a paddle board, two loungers, and an umbrella. Tim set everything up and even took the time to show my daughter how to paddle board in the ocean. There are wheelchairs, free of charge, where the tram drops off at the beach.
The owner, I didn't catch his name, was very kind too! His whole operation was leveled by Ian and he is trying his best to keep things going.
Don't just walk, run to Lover's Key State park. The $8 admission is well worth it compared to the $20 parking fees on FMB. We can't wait to come down again and...
