Normally, I find myself on Sunday nights being good and heading in early to start the week off fresh and well-slept. Though, coming to Cleveland, I decided to follow the locals out to the Lava Lounge. I would never imagine a Sunday night being more entertaining than a Friday or Saturday and at the Lava Lounge it was indeed.

We rolled up around a quarter to one. We climbed up the stairs and the first thing I noticed was a bunch of girls hurdled in a corner looking feisty and feathered. To my left was a couple drunkenly making out with ridiculously over-exaggerated moves. The people watching was top-notch even though there were only about ten of us in the room.

As for the drinks, prices were reasonable. I like to get a couple of drinks and I don't like to spend outrageous amounts of inflation on liquor. I got a vodka/soda for a fair fare, then the bartender's special, still being reasonably priced. The bartender was funny and accommodating. She played her Winehouse and Feist off of her ipod and shared a laugh at the sucky face couple.

The atmosphere of this lil' rock'n'roll bar is quaint and common. A red light bulb made the bar a hazy ruby color thus reflecting the bar's name "lava" lounge. At least the bar wasn't called the Red Room like so many other bars across the country that use the same lighting effect.

Go Go Go to the Lava Lounge especially on a Sunday night.
