If I could give this place NO stars I would !! My fiance & I took his iPhone in to have the screen replaced, the owner gave us a price ($60)& we gave him the phone to repair . I asked for a quote to get my. IPhone screen replaced, he told me $399 , I called another place while we stood there to be quoted & had it on speaker phone & was quoted $230 so i PRIVATELY told my fiance "this place said "230 so we will take mine there once yours is finished " he over heard our conversation & said "not to offend you but I pay $279 for the screens" I said "Yea I understand but I'd rather take mine to have it fixed at a cheaper place to save the extra money" he literally rolled his eyes & told us to come back in 30mins to pick up the phone he was fixing. We came back to pick it up , the screen was replaced but he proceeded to tell us that he disabled the phone by accidentally pushing buttons as he was trying to fix the screen & said "its an easy fix to unlock the the phone but its an extra $30 " my fiance said "why do I have to pay Extra money for a mistake that happened that you made , I'm not paying another $30 , I'll pay for the screen being replaced but my phone wasn't disabled before I brought it to you " he snatched the phone back and said "I know what to do" he REMOVED the new screen he had put on & said "oh the screen isn't working right I can't help you" the screen was perfectly fine when he showed us , it looked brand new as it should. But hewas mad from the start because I chose to have another place fix my other phone and then my fiance didn't want to pay an extra $30 because the owner "accidently was hitting buttons while fixing the screen" . Now my fiance still has a broken screen AND we have to take the phone to have it unlocked now because of him .I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. He's HIGHLY RUDE AND CLEARLY DOESNT SEEM FIT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & God for bid do NOT call and get a quote from another place in front of him . As an IT professional, I'm well-versed in troubleshooting technology, though I lack the specialized tools for mobile device repairs. I brought the iPad to Dr. Phone Repair for a professional diagnosis, anticipating a comprehensive assessment of the port. To my surprise, the technician simply plugged in the device and immediately concluded it had a motherboard issue, water damage, or a battery problem.
This diagnosis was perplexing. I emphasized that the iPad was in perfect working condition just before the charging cable incident, and my daughter is typically very careful with her devices. However, my input was dismissed, and the technician insisted on their initial assessment.
Out of frustration, after leaving the store, I tried a random charger I had in my car. To my astonishment, it connected, and within about 30 minutes of driving home, the iPad had charged to 20%.
This experience highlights a severe lack of proper troubleshooting and diagnostic skills from Dr. Phone Repair. As an IT professional, I can say there are several basic troubleshooting steps that should have been attempted beyond merely plugging in a cable. I strongly advise against using this repair service. Read moreWords can’t even describe my experience with this “company”. This place is a disaster and their screen quality is horrible and cheap. Their customer service (owner and employee) matches their screen quality. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. They’re outright crooks and they feel the need to give you insurance… for what? If anything were to happen to your phone, regardless if the lcd went out or started to act weird they’ll automatically say it dropped. This time I had brought a group of people for proof and they still didn’t want to hear it. The staff literally went and sat down and put his earphones on. Talk about disrespect. They even referred me to their phone case store for a screen protector and when I left, it started to bubble up and I was accused of taking it off and putting it back on physically myself. Please explain to me why I would pay for something, then dismantle what I’ve paid for. The screen wouldn’t even read my finger prints, so to avoid them in general, I’ve just dealt with it. Months later, my phones screen fell out of my phone, as it lacked adhesive and leave it to them to say that my phone dropped and my “90 day insurance” coverage was up and I had to pay to replace. I’m sorry that I keep my phone in good condition, but it seems like I’m always at fault with them. This place is a joke and to whomever is reading this, you’d be better off buying the kit on eBay or Amazon and doing it yourself for cheaper....
