Sunset Marina — Attraction in Contiguous United States

I want to thank the wonderful staff at the Sunset Marina for taking such good care of us while we were there. We had engine trouble 11 mile from the marina, we had to come in on one engine. We contacted the marina of our situation. The ladies in the office said they would have dockhands there to catch us. The dockhands did a great job at getting our lines and tying us up. The guys were very polite and professional. After we assessed the problem with the engine we had to order parts. We let the ladies in the office know we would be a few days before we’re ready to go. The told me that they would just leave us on the T head. We just wanted to say again a very special thank you to the entire staff at Sunset Marina for taking such good care of us. One other thing the bar Teasers was a fun spot to hangout and the food also at The Sunset Grill was great. Both places the staff were friendly and polite. One other person we need to thank is Mark from TowBoat USA for coming out to meet us as we came into the inlet, he fallowed us to the T head and made sure we got docked ok. THANK YOU. I have stayed at marinas 4-5x the price, whose amenities aren't nearly as nice as those available at Sunset Marina. Unfortunately, reasonable dock fees comes with the trade-off of an often rude, disrespectful staff seeming to lack common sense. If you are traveling with a group of boats, there is no guarantee you will be docked in the same vicinity despite what you may be told when making the reservation. There is no reservation preference offered at the on-site restaurant (Sunset Grille) or bar (Teasers) given to boaters despite paying to stay at the marina, and although there are 2 different pool areas children will be drawn to, very few members of the staff warmly welcome kids. If you are accustomed to being treated like a valued customer, Sunset Marina is probably not the place for you.

The staff at the marina were AMAZING! I need some zincs replaced on the boat and they had a list of contractors for everything you could imagine. Divers, electricians, mechanics...The onsite marine supply store was incredibly well stocked and were nice enough to scout around and order me SZ-1 zincs when they had none in stock. Once I had the zincs in hand Rich from Delmarva Divers had them installed before the end of the day.

There is a Food Lion about .7 miles from the marina, several restaurants a short walk away and the boardwalk can be reached on foot as well if you're ambitious (it;s a bit far).

Thank you so much to all of the amazing staff at Sunset Marina and the amazing on site marine supply store! Great visit to OC. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
