Absolutely horrible! I thought it was just me selecting bad produce/meat...until I read the post from an ex-employee. This morning, I decided to take my watermelon to work that I purchased 2 days ago from Sprouts. 5 minutes into my trip, I kept smelling a horrible odor. I looked around my car - which is always clean and fresh...with cream colored carpet. I thought maybe there was something in the door pocket, so reached into the back floorboard to get the bag my watermelon was in. The bag began pouring out rotten watermelon juice. I'm driving, so I pull into a business and throw the watermelon into a nearby ditch. My rear passenger floorboard is puddled with rotten watermelon juice. I pulled out the floor mat and put it in the trunk wrapped in a blanket. I took another blanket to try and soak up the rotten juice...all while on my way to work. Placed the soiled blankets in the trunk on a plastic bag. Ended up being over an hour late to work. tried to vacuum it up myself but the stench was still nauseating while driving. Went to have the area shampooed. Previous time - bought $15 of lunch meat. Put in fridge. Next day, open the bag to make a sandwich and the meat smells sour like it's about to turn bad. This stuff is supposed to be good for at least 2 weeks. Previous to this - bought packaged Indian curry and a bag of premade rice - for ease. Got it home, opened the rice - tasted like plastic. Checked the expiration date - expired. 3 out of the 5 products I purchased were expired. Previous to this - Free range chicken, "fresh" green beans... 1 day after purchasing and had been refrigerated- chicken had foul odor (throw away $25 worth of chicken); green beans have black spots and are nearly completely bad. This place needs a serious overhaul in management...that is, if this action isn't corporately driven; in which case, they need to...
Read moreI was really excited that sprouts was open last night. After the cold weather, a lot of places have closed due to the power outage and not having water. When I came in I saw two Karens talking to who I believe was a manager telling him that he couldn’t pick and choose what orders from the governor he wants to follow. He handed the woman a paper, she said something, he said he doesn’t want to argue and that they are more than welcome to leave. I assumed they resolved their conflict because I saw these two Karen’s shopping in the store. I didn’t feel comfortable because they weren’t wearing masks and shopping all around the store from the produce to the freezer aisle. I also saw two other women that stopped them in an aisle telling them that they support them and they did the right thing. They started conversing in the aisle none of them wearing masks. At that point I assumed the conflict was about the masks. I went to check out and saw a police officer coming in and the manager telling him that these women wouldn’t leave after he asked them to. Just wanted to say I appreciated him calling the cops on these Karen’s and looking out for the safety of other shoppers. This really wasn’t the time for someone to behave in such a manner. I was just happy I found somewhere that had food. So sad ppl want to make an issue over wearing a mask when we are in a...
Read moreSprouts has changed A LOT since the pandemic crisis and I hate to say it’s changed for the worst. I used to work in Gulfway Plaza and shop at Sprouts almost everyday. Back then they supplied plastic bags , brown paper bags, and the store even sold re-usable canvas bags for carrying groceries. I went with my grandma last week and they charge 10¢ a bag. If the store wants to be like Sam’s Club, why not recycle the boxes so customers can load groceries in their car? The people that work in this store are extremely quiet and unhelpful. Especially the male workers. The young ladies that look like they’re college students are very nice but the male employees suck. They don’t answer if you ask them a simple question and they look down at me and my grandma like we’re stupid. I’d bust their butts and knock some sense into them I guess their parents failed to raise them to be gentlemen. This is the type of grocery store to just run in and run out. And they don’t allow customers to use their restrooms either. Walmart, Target, HEB, he’ll even Natural Grocers has a public restroom for their customers. What on earth is wrong with Sprouts?! Continue this crap and you will receive what you give. It’s a shame that this store has potential but it will never match HEB or...
