Honestly, I wish I could rate different portions of the park...
Staff was 5 stars, very helpful, polite and friendly.
Park conditions were 3.5 to 4 stars. I would say 5, but a few rides were down and of those down 2 were of the small handful able to be ridden by the 36" riders. Which left my youngest rider out most of the 6.5 hours we were there, and a crying toddler that wants to ride rides with their siblings puts a damper on the day. Although staff was very sensitive to the issue and very accommodating.
Various online articles and reviews state that with a $29.99 day pass, you get 1 free Go Kart ride. This is no longer true. Go Karts are $16 for 48" and above and $13 for 36" to 44" children. They are scheduled rides for specific times only and although they say you will be notified 10 minutes before your race start via text, you will not, set your own alarm. Their kiosk also suggests that younger riders need to ride with an adult, however this is untrue which led me to purchase several unnecessary tickets for my oldest to ride with our middle child, who was allowed to ride by herself (bonus points there). When the first race time came up, they wouldn't allow him to ride on the Junior track and kept referring to him as an adult rider (he's 14). When I tried to get the issue fixed at the front desk, they didn't seem to know what to do, they were unable to refund the rides. I went back outside and there was a young man with bleached blonde hair at the Go Karts track that helped and explained what I needed to do. I went back to the front desk and explained what I had been instructed, and for a $2 upgrade fee we turned the 3 junior Go Kart rides into adult rides and that solved the problem.
Arcade prices were very high. We gave two children cards with $10 each and they got to enjoy 3 games before they ran out of money. Upon closer inspection, we realized the games were $3 each. $10 is equal to about 15 minutes of gaming time per player. Expect to pay $40-50/hr per player on the arcades.
Food/drink prices are also high. Spent $112 on lunch and $148 on dinner. Drink refills are about $3-4 each. In the heat you are going to be drinking if you plan a day trip here. If you have more than one or two people (in our case 2 adults, 3 children - 1 being a toddler) plan to spend a decent amount on drinks. No outside food or drinks are permitted, so you may want to plan eating elsewhere. Food is standard amusement park fare, hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese steak ($13+tx), fries, mozzarella sticks, etc... The marinara tasted like someone opened a can of stewed tomatoes and dumped it in a cup. The reviews I read about "best cheese steak in South Florida," clearly never been to Wicked Good Deli or Charlie's at the mall. None of it was bad, just "kinda meh," for the cost. Fries were seasoned well.
If you are planning a day here with 4-5 people, be ready to spend $300-500. Our day costed roughly $420 for just under 7 hours. Considering Busch Gardens is just under 2 hours away... Next time we'll probably just go there instead. I spent far less for much more at Lee County Fair.
This place is clearly designed more as a tourist trap for those coming off Sanibel Island and the Beach... Not really something with the working class locals in mind. Nice as a one off to spoil the kids once or twice a year, but not a weekly dig like Pirate Golf, Castle Golf, or Chuck-E-Cheese... Unless you do a targeted visit, like just ride rides for a couple hours, or just Go Karts for few races, etc. I'd eat your fill elsewhere before coming so you'd only be implored to buy a snack here and there, that'll make the $4 16oz sodas that are 50% ice more...
Read moreI would never consider returning. The customer service is horrible. I was purchasing drinks and there were three employees just standing at the register bad-talking the previous customer because he had no cash and the credit card machines were down so he couldn't pay for the food he requested. The 3 girls had a whole conversation bad-mouthing him right in front of me while I was waiting for my change. When they were done, the cashier finally gave me my change. I proceeded to just continue about my day and went to the mini-golf course to discover that the course is probably the most boring and plain course I've been to ever. Since I had purchased 2 rounds of minigolf I used the money of the second round toward just purchasing wristbands (since the course was too boring to go around again.) My nephew is 42" tall so I purchased his wristband and a companion wristband (for myself.) No one explained that I wouldn't be allowed on the go karts (hello!! my nephew cant drive one alone!) My nephew got on the rides and had some fun on the little rides for kids. I went to take him on the go-kart and the attendant told someone that he didn't have the correct wristband so I was checking to see if I had the correct wristband for that specific type of gokart- I was told that I did. He let me us get on the karts and put on our seat belts and returned to tell me we had to get off because we actually didn't have the correct wristband and I couldn't drive the kart. I explained that I purchased the pkg. for mini golf, go karts and rides. He said mine was just for companionship on some of the rides. I went to ask for the manager and one of the cashiers quickly came off with an attitude. As soon as I asked for a manager she rolled her eyes and asked "For?" instead of showing concern. I told her I wanted to file a complaint. She spoke no words to me until later when I was telling the manager all of my experiences and she decided to start arguing with me. The manager asked her to back away. Even when she had called the manager over, she told another employee and they both looked at me and started laughing. I wasn't rude to anyone there until that girl started arguing with me when I wasn't even speaking to her. The manager offered to upgrade my wristband for free. I declined because I honestly just wanted to leave. She gave me a refund of the amount I payed with my credit card (so not the $7.50 I used to pay for the wristbands with the Zoomer's card or the $7.50 for the first round of mini golf.) But I didn't mind because I know my nephew did use some of the services and still had some fun. The manager was not rude at all and seemed honestly concerned with the behavior of her staff. I just hope that she can do something about having them coached on how to provide better service. She was the nicest and most logical person there, which is probably why she is the manager. She handled the situation as best as possible considering the predicament her staff put her through. The reason I wouldn't return is because I just wouldn't want to run the risk of horrible service from the moment I...
Read moreI will say that my 4 year old loves this place and we do not have many other local options that I know of so we continue to go. It really is nothing nice or special to me, but my son has nothing to compare it to and is easy going just having fun wherever. I do appreciate their FL resident wrist band, because without that it would be in my opinion too expensive for the quality. I have not tried anything here other than the small kids ride section they have, the bumper boats & gokarts so cannot comment too much on anything else. Their gokarts are nice. The ride section is very small & nothing elaborate but my son enjoys them. My main complaint would be that it seems to be highly under staffed and people seem to have to wait for an attendant to come over to be let on rides and once there is staff present, other families start coming and if your child isn't doing what the others are you will end up waiting as it seems to be only one worker present often. There needs to be more staff and organization around assisting with the rides, it is unacceptable in my opinion to make young children with short attention spans and lack of patience etc wait extended periods for rides in which are far too overpriced. I also would appreciate it if I was allowed healthy outdoor food for my child to be brought in, as it says no outdoor food or drink. I am sure the cafe has poor quality nutritional food and is overpriced. I appreciate being able to provide my child with healthy snacks from home when out and about, that would be nice. Overall, I am happy the place is a local option with the wristband. It gives my son a lot of fun for an hour or two and the staff has been very friendly with him. I just would be lying if I said it was reasonably priced or that it was extremely nice quality rides with lots of...
