Multiple Safety Concerns Look at picture attachments before purchasing, they scammed us and wouldn’t answer after leaving us without water for half a day. This place should be condemned! You couldn't pay me to stay here again! Metal rusted chunks in our hair from shower. Absolutely disgraceful! We have been coming here for years and will never come here again, extremely poor management now. We should be completely refunded. Tried to call about a hot water heater issue. After one night without hot water, a single technician came in the room to try to address the issue at 11:00am the next day completely high on weed, made the entire room smell entire time. Because he smelled like weed around both my kid’s, I told my wife that we need to go while he’s here. Took them to the peer and traveled to Oceanside. We were gone until 3:00pm. After 4hrs we came back, we needed had to use the bathroom because all the Beach bathrooms had people living right outside them we couldn’t use them before we left. So, we get back to the room with my children dancing around as I put in the code to go into our room we paid $700 dollars for three days, the tech was nowhere to be found and tools covered my bathroom floor, water was off and no water in toilet to go to the bathroom. After requesting on the website to have a separate room until it’s fixed to use bathroom, the lady said a technician is on the way. We had to use water bottles to fill the toilet to allow my children to pee and I had to hold mine because we used all of our water bottles to fill it. Tech came after 20 minutes after getting a number to call office because they have nobody onsite, all paperless, she said, technician will be there shortly, said sorry then hung up on my wife. Technician came after clearly just smoked a blunt and reeking of weed, after 2 hours of back and forth he said it was done. I don’t care if he knew what he was doing, but all he did was make chunks metal continuously come out and clearly needed help as he turned water on and was spraying water down the wall to room below. This will create bio contamination, black mold in walls without treatment. He made the problem worse. The sink in front still will not even pour water from hot water. This was the worst vacation I’ve ever had, I only get one per year and will never waste it here again. I look to hold them accountable. We will be booking the Marriott caddy corner S/W from now on. For $700, you get three nights, full breakfast, ocean view, a hot tub on the beach, early check in and valet parking. We came here because previously, we were able to pay $20 to check in early, people were great, always attentive and new management has nobody at the office because they are too cheap to hire staff in office to check in, they would not allow us in until exact time and accused my wife of raising her voice at her because she was confused. We're not allowed to ask why you don't check in early? Safety Concerns: Mold in walls, blood spots of contamination on front and back of door to bathroom upon arrival, handrails directly outside room unsafe with loose hardware and could fall easily, eroded stairs on south side causing fall/trip/collapse hazard's they are not safe, light fixtures missing with wires hanging out, electric covers open to electrical shock, electric socket burnt out creating yet another electric shock hazard, mouse hole in front door, dog’s barking out back all night long, towels have what looked like pee on it, water soaked walls with drywall bubbling creating possible mold. Corroded pipes spraying rusty metal on heads, chunks of rusty pipes in bathtub. Workers on drugs in front of my kids and making our room smell like weed. Pictures are attached of all, proving that I am not lying. Conclusion: What a waste of hard earned $$$$$, a year of saving for this trip to visit Sea World and see the sights. Now my kid's say they never want to come back to California. Thanks a lot Sandcastle Inn. This was an absolute nightmare. You could offer a lifetime of free stay's and I would not even consider it!

Pros: Location!!!!, You can walk to the beach, walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner to Thai, American or Mexican restaurants. Parking is relatively less expensive. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. There is a park in front of the inn which has open fitness center. Imperial beach is just behind the park, you can hear ocean roaring from your room. You can keep the window open for fresh air. They provide use and throw spoons and forks, sweetener, milk powder, cheese powder and a small snack bar, freeze and microwave in the room. Nice green area with picnic tables, I heard people in that area until midnight. You can ask for new towels every day. There is a spirit shop close by, they sell basic first aid and travel need items, and a surfer’s store. As I said earlier, very friendly staff. Cons: Small rooms, no or very less storage for more than two days of stay. There is no space to keep your bag open. We stayed three nights with my dog (total 4 lives). You bump into each other 😉 day and night. You would guess that once you pay you get a parking spot in front of your room, but the parking is first come first serve basis, someone could park their car in front of your room and never move!!! Dogs are not allowed on imperial beach which is in front of the inn. A lot of noise, from people in the inn and from the park in front, I heard people talking and shouting etc. until 3am. There is no AC in the room, there is a fan in the closet. Bathroom is extra compact, if you are a body builder better check the dimensions of everything in bathroom. A bit rusty and dusty tiles. There is no phone in the room, so if you want to call the office you need to call their business number. Overall: if you are a surfer this Inn is for you if you can get it for reasonable rate, I paid close to a grand for three nights during Memorial Day long weekend in 2021. Posting pictures of the room and inn, and what you expect to see when you stand outside of the room.

The Sandcastle Inn offers great value in a stunning location. The contactless check-in is convenient, the rooms have a Pueblo-style charm, featuring tile floors, a pedestal bed, a mini-fridge, a barn-style bathroom door, and a mini-split AC unit. While the motel is older and undergoing updates, the rooms and flooring feel tired and could use more refreshing. Suggested Improvements: 😕 Bathroom Exhaust Fan: The lack of a fan made the room feel stuffy and humid. Proper ventilation (likely required by California code) would improve air quality and reduce noise from neighboring rooms. Better Security: Our door was missing a deadbolt, and someone accidentally walked in at 2 AM. The pin pad had an internal 'lock' button that can be overridden with a Master-Code. Adding a deadbolt or chain lock is essential. We were given a non-sensical alibi for the incident, followed by a deflective & dismissive conversation stopper. Small Comforts: An extra blanket and complimentary bottled water would add a nice touch. WiFi Name Update: The current name "I Am Your WiFi" could be changed to something more professional. The Sandcastle Inn has great potential. Keep in mind Imperial Beach has Bacteria levels exceed health standards. Avoid water contact see www.sdbeachinfo.com.

I recently stayed at this Inn while my house was under repair. The Inn is just across the street from Imperial Beach. I had a room on the top floor and was able to see the waves crashing on the beach and watch the sunset every evening. The Inn is pet friendly but do charge fifty dollars per pet per visit. The Inn can be a bit noisy at times because of the garden area where people sit out on the picnic tables but it didn’t bother us. Also I had a room that is possible to join into the room next to it. I was laying in bed when all of a sudden 😳 the neighbor in the ajoining room opened my door!!! I was 😳 shocked!!! I would have appreciated it to be locked before I rented the room! The bedroom light only worked with the fan on which was annoying. The room also could really use a table of some sort. There was a mirror to get ready by but nowhere to put my stuff! The bathroom sink also had no counter to put anything! Just a bit of a inconvenience. This place also charges for parking which I think is unacceptable!! I am handicap and don't have a choice I had to pay and it's very pricey! The room its self was very clean and I loved the location right at the beach. So if these other things don't bother you that much then I'd say it's a good place to stay.

The cutest place directly across the street from the beach. The hotel is COMPLETELY contactless! The room was super clean & comfortable. The area is a nice beach town with a few restaurants in walking distance. I wish they had a loyalty program because I will be back.
