I was at a volleyball tournament today at Jackson High School, and I had about an hour between games, so I wanted to find a quick, nearby place to run. Since it was in the middle of a hot August day, I was hoping for a shaded area. I found the Jackson Bog. Little did I know, the Bog has an entrance right off the high school parking lot (I'll show where in the pictures).

About 80% of my 40-minute run was in the shade, and I loved the experience. I'm only giving four stars because the signage explaining where the trail begins, continues, and ends could use an upgrade. I’ve tried to provide clarification in a few...

Trail starts through back of playground. Walk straight back from parking area. At first, it looks like nothing is there but buildings and a playground! Drive to rear and park.

Really loved the big boardwalk through the bog area. So many different kinds of plants. Many flowering plants. Lots to see. Saw many dragonflies and other interesting insects. Information plaques around too which was nice. Unexpected, interesting and...
