Rip off. Bought a used game online via PayPal. Picked up at store - as you guessed it, didnāt work. Brought it back within 7 days for cash refund. Was told that āthey canāt process the Refund because it was purchased through pay palā. I would have to go through 10 flaming hoops just to get a return label and send it back for a delayed refund. I opted for store credit even though I felt uneasy about it. This is how they scam you; they sell you a known broken game, push you for store credit so be they have your funds locked in their store - you either spend the money there or not at all. Game stop has always had mediocre business practices which is a big reason why they are going down the tubes. During a pandemic where video games have had a surge in popularity, youād think they would take advantage of this opportunity to provide better customer service experiences to help save their dying business...

When I was leaving I checked the receipt to see if it was taxes and the employee added on a warranty which I did not ask for. I went back in to get my money back for that and my exact words were āhey sorry, I didnāt ask for a warranty can I get my money backā, he starts the process for a refund and while heās doing that he tells me that I shouldnāt come back to this game stop, I chuckle and ask whyās that and he tells me that I have attitude, I ask what attitude and he says Iām showing attitude right now. I tell him that he charged me for something I didnāt ask for and Iām gonna ask to get my money back for it. Long story short, the employee Hussein sucks and would fit much better being a sleazy used cars salesman and I will be taking my business ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location unfortunately tried to sell me some off-brand hardware with less capability, when the OEM hardware was depicted on the site. I had reserved the item and had to shop around for a couple of hours afterward on the other side of town because they didn't have the item I actually wanted and expected to get - this wouldn't have been as big of an issue if I didn't leave my side of town to get what I was expecting to begin with. I hate to think of all the clueless parents who have been taken for granted by this shady corporation, or all of the kids who have been ripped off by their lousy buyback/upcharge policies on used games and hardware. I can't see myself willingly entering one of their stores again for a very long time (despite how long its been since I've visited one to begin with), and I will actively avoid this particular location...
