This store and franchise has gone down hill BIG TIME since the new ownership. Half of the store's products (especially the meat, dairy and produce) are 2-3 days from the expired dates‼️ Not to mention wrong prices posted verses what rings up at the register. Example... Yesterday 7/10/2022 I go to pick up some pancakes and the price was higher than what it rung up for. I inform her (a New Cashier) of the price difference and she begins to argue with me that I was WRONG and that the computer was right! So I paid for the food and went back to take a picture of the price posted, but she races back ahead of me and removes the price tag before I could take the picture and CONTINUES to argue with me that I was WRONG and that the computer was right!
I politely asked for a Manager, who took the price tag from her, apologized and refunded me the price difference. Side note: Had she NOT been so rude, I would have just accepted the new price and walked out of the store. And probably would not have written this review. BUT because she was, here we are 🤷🏾🤷🏾.
However, what really made my day had me in tears 😂😂 was ... witnessing the NEXT customer in line pretty much going through nearly the EXACT same type of experience with the cashier that I did 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😂😂😂. Now I see why Publix's motto is, "where shopping is a PLEASURE" 😂😂
If you shop at this location, be ready for a "Karen" at the...
Read moreI appreciate the fact that the products are priced decently for people on a tight budget. Shopping here helps a lot when you live paycheck to paycheck. However today I was at the location off of Clearwater/Largo Rd around 4:30-5pm and the cashier was quite rude to me. He basically seemed as though he didnt want to be there and lacked customer service skills. There was a "Now Hiring" sign in the window and seeing as I'm in need of job but have limited availability I asked if he knew what shifts they were looking to fill. He at first told me that he didnt think they were hiring. So I stated that if they were not hiring then they should take down the sign. That's when his attitude really shined. I didnt really respond much because I was just shocked with the way he was speaking to me. He finished ringing up my items and I had to ask how much I owed. I've been in the customer service industry I would have never spoken to a customer the way this man spoke to me. It's one thing for the cashiers to be slow, but adding rude into the mix is bad...
Read moreGreat store. Good produce! Good meats at GOOD prices. Their store brand is the best buy. Unfortunately, they are carrying more and more name brands which are not as budget minded. That blows the Save a Lot business model. However even the name brands are priced better than pblix.
Save-a-lot really should open a store at 22nd St S and 18th Ave S. The building is perfectly suited to their size. And the only competition is Dollar general or family Dollar and small mini quick stores. The neighborhood has NO FRESH vegetables for 20 to 40 blocks, N,S, E or W! Save-a-lots prices and selection would be Very popular to a developing and somewhat gentrifying neighborhood. Also, discerning patrons would choose S-A-L over other overpriced chains or inadequate Dollar chain junk stores The local demografic is becoming more and more financially stable as RE values limb steadily. Save A Lot could reap long term success where Publix and Walmart are...
