As a haunt enthusiast I was completely stoked to go to the Fright Dome however I was completely disappointed! It was the biggest waste of 4 tickets! First and foremost the professionalism of the scare actors lacked big time. Seeing scare actors out of character with cell phones in their hands, a bottle of water, a backpack on, really ruined the mood. Only one of the scare zones actually was scary. The voodoo like one. So many missed opportunities for pop scares. Also seeing scare actors in other scare zones or just wandering around ruined it for me as well. When you have a scare zone you should take your guest to a time and to a place mentally so having clowns wander through area's that are not carnival themed, or voodoo folks wandering where the rave area is just is off. Then those with chain saws just oddly stick out. Have a theme have a area. The lines were out of control. Actors failed at staying in character. I witnessed them shaking hands, giving high fives, hugging people talking to friends or breaking character completely. As a scare actor myself I stayed in character the whole night. We have private bathrooms for actors and made it a rule for character's to never be seen out of place. To see characters wandering about where they do not belong is just wrong. Then to go through scare zones and find no actor's there is just odd. The freak show area was missing freaks. Why have a stage for them if they are not on the stage doing their thing. The contortionist just stood there. The bearded lady did as well. Then there should of been clowns on stilts, a demented ringleader, and other oddity's. The crowd management and flow of the mazes was God awful. The lines moved at a snail's pace. Yes you do not want a conga line through the maze but the groups got to go through smoother and faster. I scared at Darkwood Manor in Luray VA the #1 ranked haunted house in VA I have also been to many haunts in Virginia and in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and never have I ever seen such a mess. I have also been to Kings Dominion amusement park for their Halloween events and their scare zones are actually scary. Please step your game up I seriously wasted money last night. It was such a mess! If you do not want to be scared feel free to come otherwise be prepared to waste your time and money. Oh not to mention parking is a hot mess as well! Your a low caliber haunt that completely is a waste! Also want to add the amount of rouge teenagers is outrageous. Witnessed teenagers nearly break the Spongebob Squarepants figure by where his ride normally is by climbing all over it and hanging from his arms. Seriously have some respect. Plus they have no clue how to walk in a crowd. They would just elbow and push through. Learn some respect kids. Also noting that customer service sucks never recieved phone calls back...
Read moreGreat Experience, but beware this is a teenie bopper's dream night. Middle schoolers, high schoolers, 10 year olds... kids acting like they're grown ups, making out, cuddling in public. Basically, the joint is filled with obnoxious brats who try to one-up the actors instead of going with the flow and sharing in the fright experience. Ignore them as best you can if you want to give yourself a good experience.
I had a VIP pass so was quickly led to each haunted house and each ride within an hour and a half. The guide takes you to the front of the line (in front of the fast pass line too) each time and waits for you or joins you and your group. So please be kind and don't forget to tip at the end.
Five Nights At Freddy's was actually a horrible haunted house. It went rather quickly, and was not scary to me at all, though you do get some jumps and screams from loud bangs. It's a 2 out of 5 for me.
I thought Krampus was the most frightening one out of the six.
Ouija was not "ouija" at all. No ouija boards at all. It was more of an exorcism thing. It's not much of a maze either, no puzzles or anything, just walk till you get to the end, meeting some actors along the way. Be nice to the actors, and let them do their jobs.
The decor was fantastic for all houses though, so be sure to at least appreciate the work.
Rides are all quite fun. Not all rides have a fast pass line. Canyon blaster had a fast pass line, but it seemed like they weren't really checking.
There is one Food concession stand open. Pizza and drinks were sold out of a mobile cart. Alcohol for the adults, cash only at the Bacardi stand. Most games were staffed or turned on.
If you don't do the VIP experience, be prepared to wait. Hour waits without fast pass. Hopefully you can get through everything within 5 hours, since they shut down at midnight. Yes, kids can remain inside unattended after curfew, unless...
Read more40.00 a head / or 70.00 a head to skip to the front / or 90.00 a head to be like the president. what a (expletive) joke. I saved up so i could take my kids there. Saved up 160.00 to get in the door. Showed up at 7:30 pm and left at almost 11 because line wait times were 90 minutes or more. We only got to see 2 haunted houses because of the ridiculous wait times. Very few scary people walking around. Those that were had shabby costumes that were not scary at all. The people with the chainsaws were the most threatening cause of the chainsaws. All the others were very weak. in the FNAF line. my kids needed to use the restroom, but since we had already gone about halfway I had them hop the fence and run tot he restroom. upon returning 2 minute later I get accosted by the fright dome volunteer who some of my money went to for the horrible experience of waiting over an hour just for her to tell me i had to get out of line and start over. I declined and then she had security come and talk to me. They let me stay but essentially they said that it's too bad. So.... essentially if you have to go you either a. get out of line and go and start over or b. go in your pants get kicked out of line have to go change and then start over. Heaven forbid someone with a physical disability might have had to to. As far as the 2 houses we went in. Hellcatraz and FNAF. they were good. FNAF was great. but still amazing how Fright Dome really caters to those that have deep pockets. The wait times literally started at 30 minutes and ended up being 90 minutes and over. For an event that only stays open 5 hours with those wait times it's impossible to see all of them unless you're one of the privileged that has deep pockets. Way to help ruin the experience. Maybe try thinking about the middle class and lower...
