Server Kindra D was not great. We went for lunch while visiting the beach. Wanted something small as the menu didn't offer lunch sizes and the kids menu didn't have an age limit I ordered a kids meal for me as well as one for my son. My spouse purchased an appetizer and an alcoholic beverage. This broke Kindra's brain, she wasn't happy about a non-child getting a kids meal (mcdonalds never cares, guess we should have gone there). We offered to leave and she said no she would do it, but management is cracking down. That sucks, but not something that should be the customer's problem. I offered to pay more and pointed out grilled cheese isn't on the "adult menu" and there are no age limits on the "kids menu".
Food comes out and she drops 1 of the kid's meal plates. Luckily, she had picked up the wrong one so it wasn't our food anyway. She said "they gave me the wrong food". Servers job is to check the food before it goes out, but I guess no one explained that to Kindra.
Thomas (I later discovered is the manager) came by and cleaned up the broken plate and food from the floor. He then got us a water refill and knife.
Food was dry, amount of ketchup not enough for the dry fries. Also, no apple juice, but our son could have a soda- Kindra's words. We are fortunate that our son doesn't like soda. Well he stuck with water.
While awaiting the check my spouse went back to the car. Our son saw this and wanted to join I said he could. I didn't realize the window was completely open and he climbed out. Kindra saw this and told him not to do that. He was already on the other side. Not sure what she expected him to do? I certainly wouldn't want him climbing back in to then use the door.
Overall, not a great experience. Thomas was what a restaurant server should be Kindra...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere's my experience today at Gilgamesh in Lincoln City, my first visit: I walked in, headed towards the bar. I said hi as I passed a Gilgamesh server, and she looked at me in a way that said Why are you talking to me? She wasn't engaged with any customer, I hadn't interrupted her in any way, but the look she gave me was unmistakable. I sat at the bar. Every stool was vacant, I sat right by the taps. The server i said hi to came back, and ignored me while she did absolutely nothing. She eventually came over, and just looked at me, silently. I said hello, in a still friendly manner. 'How can I help you' she said, in a tone that said that was the last thing she wanted to do. There were no menus, and no board of any kind, listing the beer selections available on tap. So I asked her Do you have a double IPA on tap? She replied "I don't know." At this point, here comes another Gilgamesh server, a woman maybe mid-50's, and she has the most sour looking face I've ever seen. Im 68 years old, I've seen plenty of faces in my time, and this woman was unhappy to be there. The first server asked her Do we have a double IPA? And angry looking woman looks directly at me, and says in the most disgusted tone I've heard in a long time, "Nooo" while literally rolling her eyes in a You must be kidding way. Then they both just stared at me. So I asked, Well, do you have a menu I can look at, please? The first server hands me a paper menu, and walked away. And there was a double IPA on it. So, I'm still hanging in there, hoping for a little improvement in the Gilgamesh server situation. I took out a 20 dollar bill, held it up a little so they could see it was ready to order. They both walked away. I waited another minute. Then walked out the door. Good bye, Gilgamesh. Best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was one of the worst restaurant experiences Iāve had. We walked in and thereās no seat yourself sign. Only a hostess station. We waited patiently since we only saw two servers. A couple came in behind us and the server walking around said to seat yourself and helped them first. Again we just waited patiently. We ordered right away and both got the steak and fries. My husband got mid rare and I got medium. Mine came out well done. It was chewy and the taste was acrid like it had either gone bad, or was cooked on a burnt unclean grill. My husbands was medium well. My steak was cut into bite sized pieces when served and my husbands was in strips. It was weird being served something they all should know is wrong. It took awhile to get it, so I didnāt say anything. Iāve been a cook and a server for a long time and I usually donāt complain. I only ate a couple pieces. My son had mac n cheese with applesauce. My husband only ate his steak but tried mine and again something was off about mine. Iām pregnant and really hope I donāt get sick. The server saw I didnāt eat it but still charged full price so I didnāt tip well. We werenāt really checked and the server was cleaning tables while touching dirty rags also was touching drinks and plates with food. This is a big no for restaurants. She wasnāt very friendly and the staff seemed stressed. We live next door to a Gilgamesh brewery in Salem. We go a ton. This one was gross. It was dirty which is weird since itās newer. Donāt eat here. No one seemed happy with...
