Just moved here from Chicago where city parks supported by tax payer dollars are abundant and dog parks even dog beaches are numerous. Disappointed that I have to pay a fee to use a dog park on city park land after I already paid to license my dog in the city which should already demonstrate that Ive had all the vacinations covered. It just demonstrates a lack of commitment or foresight by the community to provide services for everyone's benefit without additional hassle. If people want to create an exculsive dog park they shouldn't be able to use metro park land. Not providing ample services leaves less determined dog owners out finding less secure and safe alternatives. I'll end up getting the stupid permit but I hope someday city parks meet resident's needs without additional permits. Great dogs here, only occasionally do you find an aggressive member and the guests they bring with them seems eager to help out when there's a problem with a member's...
Read moreThis dog run is well maintained from my experience since joining only 2 months ago. I use the small dog side and my older mixed beagle enjoys exploring the large open space. All of the dogs and humans we've encountered are well behaved. Lots of water bowls, balls, bags, seating, shade, and grass for my pooch to enjoy.
There's also a large dog side that is much more active, plus there's a third fenced in area apparently for mixed use. Both the small and large dog sections have large gazebos for shade and seating.
It's well worth the $40 annual membership. Membership requires that your dog is licensed and vaccinated. With membership you gain access to all of the association's dog runs...
