I will begin by saying this isn't the worst hotel, just not the best either. It's fine for a night, maybe two in a pinch. The staff was customer friendly and accommodating to our needs, which is a big plus! I booked the hotel based on location, which I thought would be a better quality and being a reward member as well as photos. Also, I was looking for a "suite" style, which to me it really wasn't a suite at least not what I was used to being a suite. Honestly, many reviews were on point, and more attention should have been given to them. Upon arrival, it was evident to see the photos didn't match as it looked a bit dreary. i think photos should be updated and not so filtered because that pool picture is definitely deceiving. When checking in, I was told about a $100 deposit that I wasn't previously aware of; fortunately, I had it available. You'll get cookies at check-in; they're okay. As we walked to our room, we noticed the carpet was dingy and in need of vacuuming. The hallway was hot and humid as our room was upon entering. I guess they turn the units off in empty rooms to preserve energy, and that's understandable to a degree; maybe turn on ahead for customers slated to check-in per reservation. Like another person reviewed, there does seem to be a smell of mildew with an attempt to be hidden by freshners. The furniture/amenities weren't so bad, not outdated but not the most up-to-date; in the lounge area, the seating was a little dingy. It is evident to see there are structural issues such as condensation/ moisture on the windows; parts of the floor felt as though they were going to cave in, and one of the beds squeaked, plus the beds weren't that comfortable. Breakfast was okay with waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, eggs, alternate days of potatoes and sausage, juice, but it was watered down, apples, and prepackaged muffins. The drink vending machine on our floor says out of order, and the one in lounge took my money as it was out, and I would have to contact the number on the machine. We went to the pool one, late evening, and it was cringe; again, nowhere appealing as photo shows. I questioned the cleaning/chlorine system of the pool as the water seemed a bit murky, and the railing on the steps of the pool was loose/faulty, which could be a big haphazard! I informed personnel when we went in; she said she wasn't aware and would pass the word. I said I'll do the same, which I did to the morning staff who said thank you for the information. Also, while at the pool a random guy came to the gate and I guess he sensed the uncomfortableness as I headed to the phone in the pool area; he left and honestly I don't know if the phone even worked since I didn't have to use it because he left. I really think hotel personnel are doing the best to keep it as nice as they can, and again, they are receptive to the needs of the customers. As I said before, it's not the worst, but it does need work and attention. I probably wouldn't seek out to stay again, nor recommend to my set of acquaintances as I know their preferences. Hopefully, they'll be able to address the weak areas and strive to increase the overall quality of the hotel.
