This is a nice little campground and I would have rated it higher except for the sewer smell at our site. The dump station is not away from the camping area as it is in most parks. It is right next to site 20. Even when no one was dumping we would occasionally get a sewer smell. My husband talked to one of the workers who told him there is a vent next to the dump station and we may occasionally smell it. We had company one evening and were outside cooking when someone came and dumped. The odor was so bad we went into our motorhome (where we could still smell it, though not as bad) to wait for it to dissipate.||The gravel pads some people mention are the ones without any hook ups. I believe they decided to squeeze a few extra spaces in between the original sites. While a good number of the sites are nicely spaced some are quite small due to adding extra sites. ||There is also only one bathhouse for the entire campground. There were two older buildings that looked like they used to be bathhouses and were replaced by the one.||Overall a nice campground. I would stay here again but not anywhere near the...
Read moreI couldn't give it five stars because some of it is still under construction from the tornado. I'm sure I would have if the construction was completed. But it's outstanding what they've done in just a year. This park is so beautiful and offers so much from Golf, baseball, soccer, playgrounds, scenic tower, campgrounds, walking trails that double for bikes too. Wide enough for several people. An old Red Bridge over the water which was full of turtles, I love turtles. Pine trees everywhere reminded me of East Texas Piney woods. So very beautiful and the bike trail runs beside the Arkansas River which is breathtaking. I ran into an avid fisherman, at church, he showed me pics of fish him and his wife brought in just a few weeks earlier, whopping 26 lb catfish and a 30 lb crappie. They were gorgeous. So, great fishing too! Flying in, the view of the Arkansas River flowing all throughout the land, is just gorgeous! Y'all will not be disappointed if you enjoy nature and appreciate the canvas that God painted on, in Arkansas. Beautiful...
Read moreSeems like a phenomenal park. We only used the park while biking on the Arkansas River Trail; despite the trail running along or on the road in a couple places, it was a welcome change from some of the busier stretches of road we biked along or on for the rest of the loop. We were only in the Little Rock area for about 24 hours, but if we'd had another day or two in town, I'd have liked to explore this park more. There's seriously so much to do here - walking, biking, BMX, golf, archery, tennis, disc golf, playgrounds, a little amusement park, etc.... Even a campground! The location seems pretty convenient, too, as the ART connects you to Emerald & Big Rock Quarry Parks just to the south, and a couple other parks before the Big Dam Bridge. Also connects to another park on the LR side of the river, though the ART is a little dicey if you try to head any farther (south)east into downtown LR (definitely felt safer riding on the NLR side of the river for almost the entire way, and you can still get across to LR's riverfront in...
