This place was recommended by the hotel I was staying in. Being that it was a Thursday we did not expect a large crowd. Waited over an hour to be seated, multiple customers came in and turned around due to the wait time. That should have been my first clue to leave! However, there were 7 in my party and everyone was wanting something to eat. Eventually we were seated and then we waited another 20 minutes before we saw the server. The server was pleasent and nice, but the service was horrible!!! Definately did not learn that being attentive and at least acknowledging your customers goes a long way! She stated she was very busy and the resturant was short handed. She did not want to take our drink order when she arrived or our food order even though we were already familiar with the menu after the overly long wait. She returned after another 10 minutes and took our drink order and eventually returned with mostly water and said there was no tea. After another 15 minute wait, she finally took our food order. We waited almost an hour for the food to arrive! When the food did arrive, we only recieved half of the meal that was ordered! When I asked to speak with the Manager, I was given three separate excuses as to why I could not talk to her! When the Manager, Stephanie, finally appeared after a 25 minute wait, she provided another totally different excuse as to why she could not talk to me. She was very rude and made multiple excuses for the meal, or lack there of, and service. She refused to accommodate any of the bill for the food my party did not recieve! We did not recieve half of what was ordered! My mother recieved her steak and that was it. No sides! I recieved my steak and a shriveled up potato that appeared to have sat in a warming tray overnight! She eventually gave in and gave us a whole $15 off and stated that I should be happy with that! Then she charged my credit card $40 more than the original bill!!! Stormed off and refused to come out of the back to correct the bill! Had to call Plainfield PD for assistance! Told the PD to disregard sending an officer when the manager finally returned to correct the bill. She reduced the bill to a number closer to the adjusted price but not what she said it would be. Should have had the PD send an officer. Probably would not have done much good! Was seriously pissed at this point and finally just paid the bill. Figured I would dispute the charge with the Credit Card company. Took pictures of all three bills as proof of the SCAM!

Read moreI was on a visit to Indiana and had heard great things about The Coachman. I looked the menu up before I went and was really excited to try the food. There was a group of 15 of us. We had over an hour wait and we had called and made a reservation. We had asked about a little room that was vacant the entire time that we waited and was told that it was unavailable. While we were waiting we had some fun with other customers there doing a little runway show. We were not in anyone's way and everyone (other customers included) decided to participate and have fun. The manager came out and was extremely rude in telling us to be quiet and that we were causing a scene. There is a way to ask someone to keep it down completely and that was just not it. The hostess was rude as well. She had a bad attitude and kept giving us mean looks. When we were finally seated we were seated in the vacant section we had inquired about earlier. There was debate about us staying or not and the waitress was bothered and asked "are we staying or...." We had just sat down and she had no other tables. She was just standing there waiting on us. We had decided to stay and a few of us ordered drinks. When my friend's water came out, it had something floating in her cup. After that 5 of us decided to leave and went somewhere else. When we got outside the manager had an employee out back talking to him and she was being as nasty to him as she was to us. When we turned around we saw the rest of our party head out. You guys lost out on 15 customers just because your employees don't know how to treat their customers.
I highly recommend that you do a workshop on how to better assist your customers as far as...
Read moreWe were in town for a baseball tournament this weekend and a worker at our hotel highly recommended your restaurant. Saturday after our game our family and 19 others came to your restaurant for dinner around 8:45 the restaurant closes at 11- as soon as we entered the restaurant no one was at the hostess stand- we waited about five minutes and then someone came out and said they’d get the hostess. She came out and I told her we had a party of 19 and she immediately acted very irritated and said it would be an hour wait. To the right of us was an open room with no one in it- I asked her if our party could sit in there. Her response was that they sent all the servers home and only two closers were there to wait on tables. She said she would go see if she could find someone to serve us. We were then moved to a waiting area- again the hostess was very rude & annoyed by our presence. After being seated a waitress came in to take our drink order- each mother gave their families drink order. The waitress went and got our drinks when she returned she told us that we needed to be more organized and if we weren’t we were really going to mess her up!! We explained that each mother had given their families drink order and that we’d do the same with the food. We received our food in a timely manner, the food was average. Us mothers cleaned up the mess & gathered all the dirty dishes for the waitress so she didn’t have to clean up a big mess. I’d never recommend that restaurant to any friends or family visiting the area. I’ve never in my life felt so unwanted at a business by their staff. If you hate working & dealing with the public you probably shouldn’t work in the...
