Calling all boba lovers in Rockford! Kung Fu Tea just had their grand opening this past weekend and let me give you an honest review of this location! Tl;dr - 5 Stars for staff, drinks and atmosphere, Hater reviews are going to hate, check my photos of the store! First off, the drinks are phenomenal. They have a massive menu with tons of creative flavor combinations, from classic milk teas to fruity concoctions and everything in between. They even have coffee and slush options for those who aren't into tea (but seriously, why wouldn't you be?). The best part? Every sip is bursting with flavor – no watered-down drinks here! Today, I got the Honeydew Mania, a slush with honeydew that tastes great for this warm weather and I added the mango jelly for an added texture and flavor! I’ve also had their Kung Fu Milk Tea, Mango (jasmine) Green Tea and a classic Black (earl gray) Tea! A Hot Longan Jujube is a great alternative that is caffeine free and good for those colder days. But Kung Fu Tea isn't just about the drinks (although, let's be honest, those are pretty darn amazing). The staff is what really sets them apart. They're super friendly and helpful, always happy to answer questions and suggest flavors based on your preferences. Plus, the atmosphere is super chill and inviting – a perfect place to relax with a delicious drink in hand. Their soft opening had a bit of a learning curve but doesn’t every new business in town? Each Kung Fu Tea is independently owned and operated. The owners care about their community, their staff and providing an exceptional 5-STAR experience! So for the reviews that criticized the long lines forget to give some grace because the staff are not all experts with making all the different drinks and really care about providing great customer service. Plus the long lines means people have really wanted this to open, myself included! One thing I learned from their staff is that they have a Kung Fu Tea app (available on the App Store, Google Play Store) where you can place your order online for pickup or delivery. So rather than have to wait in a “long line” pick up your order at the designated time or get it delivered to the comfort of your own home! You even earn rewards, working your way to a black belt, which I still am working towards, and for your birthday you get a free drink ($7 off). With over 350+ locations across the US, Canada, Cambodia, Japan and its origin Taiwan! It’s not just America’s Bubble Tea but it’s also global! And let's not forget the price! Kung Fu Tea's drinks are very affordable, especially considering the high quality. You won't break the bank enjoying a fantastic bubble tea here. Seriously, Kung Fu Tea is the total package. Delicious drinks, friendly staff, and affordable prices. What more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and check them out – you won't be disappointed! Check out my photos from visiting the store!

Overall the product is good but there are a couple things Ive been to kung Fu Tea about 5 times now. I like the atmosphere i think the staff are kind and friendly the drinks are so good - when they have the ingredients. Every time i go in they have a list of boba/jellies ingredients that they do not have which okay understandable but everytime? Also the princess peach tote 🙄 the display is much larger i just think to have to pay 15$ in drinks to even get the bag and it being so small its unusable is cheap on there end.

I was very excited to try this location and it did not disappoint! I went with three others and they all enjoyed their beverages as well. Everything was great, but I was underwhelmed by their reward system. My beverage was $7 for a medium and I earned 14 "bubbles" for it. A free drink is 160 bubbles which means I'd have to go about 10 more times before earning a free drink. Besides the underwhelming rewards, it was still a nice experience.

I don't understand the reviews for bad service, the entire crew at this location are absolute gems! They always greet me with a smile and ask how I am.

As far as the drinks themselves I haven't been disappointed once. My orders are always correct, they even gave me a free topping once when my mobile order ran out of the coffee Boba, they let me pick something else and refunded me the Boba charge. My personal favorites are:

💚 Matcha Milk Strike with Brown Sugar Boba 💚 Kiwi Punch!!! 💚 All of the Princess Peach drinks (while it's available) 💚 Honey Lemonade

I always order ahead of time on the app and that cuts waiting time considerably when they have a busy spike. Also: they've been open less than a month. They're gonna be busy for a while, that's just common knowledge.

I absolutely adore KFT and they are my top drink stop, replacing DD and...

If you had told me it was even possible that getting a simple lemonade would take an hour, I wouldn’t believe it, but it’s true! My son and I stopped by tonight for (what we hoped was) a quick drink. We arrived at 6pm. There were 2 couples in line ahead of us. Ordered at 6:09. Ordered a lemonade and a classic milk tea. Our drinks were not ready until 6:57pm. The inefficiency we witnessed was astounding!!!! I get that things happen, but a simple “we’re really backed up, this may take a while” would certainly made me reconsider and would have saved me a lot of frustration. They do offer a delicious product, but pigs will fly before I ever step foot into a Kung...
