I am deeply disappointed with the overall experience I had at Concrete Jungle. Despite the excellent service provided by our server, Linesse, the numerous errors made by the kitchen and bar overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit. Furthermore, the lack of helpfulness and ineffective management displayed by Shannon, the manager, left me feeling unsatisfied and undervalued as a customer.
To begin with, our reservation was not honored on time, which immediately set a negative tone for the morning. The issues continued when the burgers we ordered, specifically requesting them to be cooked medium, arrived overcooked and were plated incorrectly. Additionally, the fruit served alongside the meal was completely dried out, and the burger buns were stale. To add insult to injury, they ran out of the chicken nannwhich and failed to provide any bacon as requested on the burgers - they ran out by 11:30AM.
In an attempt to salvage the situation, we decided to order two salads. However, these arrived without the promised chicken and were delivered a staggering 45 minutes after they were ordered. It is important to note that they were salads, not soufflés.
When we requested a side sauce for the dry and overcooked burgers, we were informed that it would be an Aoli-horseradish sauce. Unfortunately, we were served plain mayo instead, which was a disappointing and inaccurate representation of what was described. This lack of attention to detail and miscommunication within the kitchen only served to make the waitstaff appear incompetent, despite the efforts of our server.
Furthermore, the bar was unable to provide two out of the three advertised mocktails. This alone would have been forgivable, but what was truly concerning was the fact that they served alcohol to a person who had been sober for 20 years. The gravity of this mistake was completely lost on the general manager, Shannon, who displayed a complete lack of understanding and compassion for the severity of the situation. This oversight could have had serious consequences and should not be taken lightly.
Given the numerous errors and mishaps throughout the experience, it is disappointing that the management team did not offer better solutions to satisfaction to address the problems we encountered. If the establishment truly valued our time and money, they would have been proactive in rectifying the situation. Instead, we were met with an indifferent attitude and a lack of effort to make...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience mainly because of the extremely rude manager who started off my parties experience terribly. First, I book a reservation for 4 people at 6pm. I requested in the notes to have one of the velvet pink books as we were planning a fun having a mom night out. I called on different days and times but I couldn’t get a hold of the restaurant to see if they were able to accommodate my request for the booth. I emailed and sent a message on instagram but no responses. We arrived and the manager was at the front desk, I told her my name and that we had an extra person, asked if that was okay and that in my notes I requested a booth. She immediately said “oh the booths are all reserved for larger parties of 6 or more. I explained to her that I was a little frustrated because I requested the booth in my notes and tried to get a hold of the restaurant. She then again said they are all reserved but that she could accommodate our 5th person. I then proceeded to tell her again that I am disappointed about the booth and tried asking how someone is to reserved the booth if there is no one to get a hold of at restaurant. She got very defensive and with aggression demanded my group to be professional and again stated that she was able to accommodate our extra person. I told her that we have done nothing unprofessional besides ask a few questions, no one had attitude, yelled or cursed. Again she stated the booths were all reserved. We were there for about two hours. The ENTIRE time not even one of booths were taken and the whole place was practically empty. This manager showed an extremely poor representation of customer service. Making it a point that she accommodated our extra person when the restaurant was empty and lying about the booths being reserved. This woman has long blonde hair and glasses. I was made aware that there is another review about her. Hoping someone higher up sees this.
We loved the food, drinks, but...
Read moreI'm leaving three stars in hopes of after a later return visit it will be five! I was finally able to secure a reservation, so excited as I like to think I'm pretty trendy and love to try something new and local. It was very busy, great sign, I know!!! I was looking around and gawking at all the beautiful animals and the ambiance does truly give it a very Caribbean vibe. But once seated, at a table for two, in an aisle where the servers and food runners use to get to the main dining area was less than ideal, and lets also mention that there is a D.J. right there in the dining area, which does not make it ideal for conversation at dinner. Very loud, and with other people talking over the music it made it even louder, so conversation was limited sadly. But I soon got over that, our server was great! ordered a specialty cocktail. Very good by the way. proceeded to order the ceviche, and our meals. The ceviche was delicious, but it was not a serving for two, it came in a small bowl on a large plate accompanied by a lot of tortilla to use as a vessel for the ceviche. The chip to ceviche ratio was incredibly miss judged. Then my mole chicken arrived, it smelled so good, and I do love me some spicy food, I was so excited to try, the mole is baked onto the chicken, yum!! however the mole that is sauced on top...OUCH...literally three bites and my lips were burning so badly I had to push my plate away and eat ice while I waited for my friend to finish his meal. I know that new establishments take time to get seasoned with the right chefs, and staff which is why my hope is to give it 5...
