In my harrowing journey to the Westfield shopping center in San Francisco, I was greeted by a sight straight out of a post-apocalyptic nightmare. The once-vibrant mall had now become a desolate wasteland, with boarded-up stores that had long abandoned the scene, their former glory but a distant memory.
As I ventured deeper into the heart of this retail apocalypse, I couldn't help but notice the eerie silence that hung in the air. On one side of the mall, there were curved escalators that seemed to lead to nowhere, ascending to the top floors where no more stores existed. The 3rd-floor escalator was boarded up, a physical manifestation of the decay that had befallen this place.
The few stores that remained open were like oases in this retail desert. They had barriers in front with guards stationed, strictly limiting the number of people allowed to enter. The security measures only added to the unsettling atmosphere of this once-thriving shopping center.
To make matters even more surreal, there was a notable police presence on a couple of floors, along with stern-faced private security personnel who kept a watchful eye on the dwindling patrons. It was as if they were guarding the remnants of a bygone era.
And then there was the giant rotating screen, now a ghostly relic of better times. It no longer displayed advertisements or promotions but simply showed a solid green color as it turned, a symbol of the mall's deteriorating state.
As I made my way through the decaying hallways, an overwhelming feeling of melancholy washed over me. Westfield shopping center was slowly succumbing to its last days on this earth, a stark reminder of the impermanence of even the grandest of...

Read moreI’m stayed here at this lovely hotel May9-11, 2022. This is a small hotel hidden in downtown SF. The area is relatively safe, yet there is so much homeless and poverty in SF that if you walk tot the mall that is 5 min away. You need to look over your shoulder all the time.
The hotel staff are amazing and welcoming. This hotel appears to be either recently renovated. As such my room 312 (see pictures attached) appears to be missing items and I complete. The restroom shower door does not close all the way and water leaks out and creates a large puddle. The shower doors also have two wholes as if a fixture is missing. There also a hook on the wall that just there with no actual fixture. Parking is extremely limited and if you are driving I would not recommend this hotel, you may not even have a spot when you arrive. There is also an accessibility issue for me, as there is no elevator should a disabled person want to stay here, I would recommend to look somewhere else.
Over all 3.5stars as it was a comfortable 3 day stay if you are here for business and not pleasure. I know this hotel has the ability to become greater. Time will only tell.
I’m giving this hotel a...
