Carondelet Park is one of the most beloved, peaceful, and vibrant places in all of St. Louis. From the moment you enter, you're greeted by lush greenery, shady trails, and a sense of tranquil escape from the city hustle. It's a picturesque retreat that offers something for everyone.

The park is family-friendly, dog-welcoming, and filled with opportunities for outdoor fun—whether you're walking, jogging, fishing, or just relaxing by the serene lakes. The pavilions are great for gatherings, the playgrounds keep kids happy, and the open spaces invite you to stretch out and enjoy the fresh air.

What makes Carondelet Park especially unique is its sense of community. It’s a locally cherished, heritage-rich space that feels both nostalgic and timeless. You’ll often see neighbors greeting each other, families having picnics, or photographers capturing the park’s seasonal beauty—from spring blossoms to autumn golds.

The park is well-kept, accessible, and full of natural charm. Whether you're seeking solitude, a romantic stroll, or a place for laughter and play, Carondelet Park delivers.

In every season, and for every visitor, this park is a true sanctuary in the city—inspiring, uplifting, and...

The actual (Pavilion 1) location is really nice. It has convenient electric access, close bathroom facilities, and parking encircling the pavilion, which is very convenient! I can overlook some of the graffiti, but, trash was laying all around & under the pavilion, remnants from prior pavilion renters had not been cleaned. We had to do it ourselves before we could decorate for the baby shower, and of course the garbage cans were full. All of this, imo, is par for the course - not a huge deal. What IS a HUGE deal, is the lady that took down the Park Rangers sign saying that the pavilion was reserved for a private party, and proceeded to set up a child's birthday party. We were VERY nice, thinking she possibly wasn't aware - but NO. Her entire "entourage" was clearly under the influence and immediately threatened a physical altercation. We had to call authorities, but unfortunately, all they did was make them move about 30 feet away where they actually put up tents!! So... basically it looks like a homeless camp is set up in the background of all my daughter's baby shower...

I used to come here as a kid and love the memories surrounding this park. It's nothing today like it was when I was a kid in the 80's, because of all the homeless people which is a shame and really should be addressed, by not the police, but by the government who does nothing but ignore this epidemic. It's a shame to see the higher up's in the city of St Louis turn their heads away from a serious situation that's right in front of their faces. They should be ashamed of themselves and replaced by government officials who care. Instead of spending millions of dollars on a trolly car in university city that was scrapped after a few short years. Think of what that money could have done if they focused it on the homeless. Instead of a trolley car that nobody rode and caused nothing but traffic nightmares. Just saying!! This is ridiculous to say...

I grew up near this park and have many good memories in relation to it. I joined my first t-ball team as a young child and played my first game in this park. I was so young that when I ran to 1st base I passed it by and instead ran to my parents on the sidelines. Other memories I have include feeding the ducks after church with my father and as I got older taking my siblings to play frisbee on the weekends. The reality is nowadays in the evening after dark I wish it was patrolled better by police because there seems to be a lot of shenanigans going on. I would hate for anything to happen to this park. I also greatly appreciate the good neighborhoods that surround it... It is without question my favorite park for walking my dogs.
