I was expecting more fun based on the descriptions of each of the rooms on their website.
When you enter, you're supposed to be in a makeshift "Hall of Mirrors" and it was pretty but all but laughable because you simple walk right through the lights to exit out the other side.
My 10 year old daughter enjoyed herself. I feel the most fun that I had as an adult was in the "Lucid Dreams" area where you dance or do a variety of movements in front of a screen and your body movement cause the screen to warp, twist, and turn with your movements and the interactive "Lab" where you take a whiff of 8 different scents to try to guess what the smell is, touch something in the mystery box to guess what it is, and listen to sounds to check off what you hear was pretty nice.
We paid to take photos but we weren't directed as to where we can take photos and get the "Dopamine Land" custom frame. So that was money wasted.
I tried the "Oxygen Bar." It was a waste of money because you can barely feel any oxygen going into your nose as you breathe. You're given a sterile nose hose to hook up to the machine and there are different scents to smell as you're taking in the oxygen. The bean bag chairs literally leave you sitting flat on the floor. As a person with a leg disability from being hit by a distracted driver, it was a little taxing to get up from the bean bag chair. I know they're trying to set up an atmosphere, but it was a total miss with those flat ∆§§ bean bag chairs.
The room with the dancefloor was nicely lit up but there was no music to dance to. I guess you had to create your own music. Bummer.
Pillow Fight was a drag. It was just a bunch of dirty looking pillows on the floor.
The room where you write something negative and then erase it to write positive was pretty cool. I wrote a lot of positive things rather than writing anything negative. I honestly hate to have to write such a downgrading review but I feel this place has a lot of potential to be better.
The ball pit is a rinky dink little half of a ball pit. Nothing glamorous about it. I thought the bathtub was cute. The ballin thing was small and cramped.
I bought some merch which cost me roughly an additional $55+ dollars because the hoodie my daughter chose cost $30 and the T-shirt I bought that cannot fit over my huge breasts which I told the guy that it wouldn't and he swore to life that it would so I bought it. That cost me an additional $25+ dollars plus tax. I gave both items to my daughter.
I spent well over $155+ dollars including merch for my baby girl and I to have some fun and in truth this experience wasn't worth that. Not to mention one little girl that attended with her parents was super loud, talkative, and disruptive of the whole experience especially in the area where you're supposed to be quiet and just relax. That within itself ruined it for us. I saw how my child kept looking at the other child like, "Please hush!" And I looked at her parents in the same manner. It got to a point that we lingered around a couple of areas to allow them to go ahead so that we could try to enjoy the rest of the experience. Don't waste your time or money. It's a total rip-off. A complete and utter scam. And we didn't even get our wand...
Read moreI wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional service I received from Markia Queen and the Manager on shift at Dopamine Land on August 22, 2024. From the moment I interacted with Markia, it was clear that she was dedicated to going far beyond the typical expectations of customer service. Not only did she assist me with purchasing a ticket, but she also resolved a last-minute issue with my guest's arrival. The Manager on shift worked out a solution with such efficiency and care, ensuring everything went smoothly. Together, they made what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless experience.
Markia's thoughtful suggestions for parking and dining after viewing the exhibition were incredibly helpful and added to the overall experience. Her grace and magnetic personality, especially after a long day at work and the late arrival of my guest, put my mind and soul at ease. She even took the time to ask for feedback and encouraged us to explore other exhibitions that Dopamine Land has to offer.
I feel compelled to share this experience because it's rare to encounter such outstanding service. Too often, complaints overshadow the recognition of a job well done, and Markia's and the Manager's efforts deserve to be acknowledged. I was so impressed by them that I shared my experience with some colleagues who later attended the event, inspired by what I had told them.
To my surprise, I learned that Markia is not even an employee of Dopamine Land but a security guard from Garda World. My guest and I left feeling that the main exhibit was Markia's dynamic presence and welcoming demeanor, supported by the Manager's effective leadership. Thank you both for making our visit unforgettable. Your kindness and professionalism truly made all the difference.
Yours...
