Upon my arrival for check-in on the 24th at 10:45 PM, I encountered only one staff member at the reception, who was occupied with closing the cash register reports. While I understand the importance of these tasks, I was disappointed to wait around 15 minutes without being attended to, especially considering Accor's promise of priority service for GOLD members, a commitment prominently displayed at the hotel's reception.
After almost 20 minutes, another employee arrived to assist me. However, there was an issue with the billing for my stay. Having paid with points from the Accor loyalty program, there should have been no additional charge, yet they initially attempted to charge me USD 220. Thankfully, after my intervention, they rectified the mistake.
Furthermore, as a GOLD member, I am entitled to a welcome drink, which was not initially offered. I had to request the voucher from the receptionist.
Regrettably, my concerns were not limited to the reception area. In my room, I found a torn bedsheet, worn towels, and a shower with low water pressure that did not heat up properly. These details significantly compromised the comfort of my stay.
As a frequent traveler and familiar with Ibis standards around the world, I must express my disappointment with my experience in Santiago. I had higher expectations from the brand, particularly regarding the benefits and care for Accor's...
Read moreAlthough I had checked in online the day before, we had to wait 15 minutes at reception while the 3 receptionists ignored us and dealt with another person. I repeat; 3 receptionists. Then when they did acknowledge our presence, they wanted to charge us more than what was stated on the ALL app where I booked the hotel. I had to screenshot the original price and send it to them. Our Spanish was limited, however, there was no effort made to explain some things in English or slowly in Spanish. A very cold welcome in Santiago. The hotel room was old, tiny, cold, no space to open our suitcases, with a view over the bus station which was sometimes loud. The area around Estacion Central is not the most appealing and apparently very dangerous at night, with warnings posted in the elevators. The breakfast was average and the staff were cold but functional. The only friendly people in the place were the security guards who always smiled and greeted us, and the cleaning staff. Would not recommend this hotel and would never stay there again. We stayed in 4 different hotels in South America during our trip and all of them were the opposite of this one, which surprised me immensely, as IBIS belongs to French company ACCOR, which we used regularly here in France. Very...
Read moreIs located right next to bus terminal and just few minutes away from the airport. You can get an airport bus at the terminal for a small fee or get a transfer for more comfort but higher cost. The hotel is fine. The room is comfortable. Cleanliness is ok. Corridors didn't look pretty clean to me. I've been there 3 times in the last month and the main glass entrance door was broken. They still dont replace it. That looks really bad and shows no preoccupation for what they offer. Front desk Staff not really friendly. They always look like they can't care less about you or your requests. Same as some ladies serving the breakfast. Slow as a turtle. Not proactive. The only super nice and friendly person that shows interest in his job and to serve the people is a waiter called Carlos. The 3 times I've been there he was the most professional and caring worker in the entire hotel. The quality of food is also pretty good. The price is convenient and so is the location but it needs some maintenance urgently and trainings...
