My partner and I booked our holiday to prague through a travel agent online so we didn't see the hotel before booking. When we arrived at the hotel we went to the front desk to check in and were asked to pay 4000czk. We paid this assuming it was tax and as we had never been to prague we didn't realise how much it was (£139.61). We phoned our travel agent when we realised we had been charged accommodation as well as tax. We left it with the travel agent to deal with.We finally got this resolved on the last day of our holiday, it WASN'T the hotels fault it was a fault with the supplier they had not paid the hotel the money which is why we were charged. So if there is an issue as to how much you pay check you are not paying for accommodation on top of tax.|There are 2 lifts in the entrance to bring you upstairs to the rooms. We entered through a tunnel to our room which was in the annex. I think I would have preferred to be in the main building. The room was basic as was the bathroom and the room had air con which we were grateful for. On our first full day we went for breakfast there was bread, ham and cheese, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, sausage and beans. The food was ok but soon came to realise this was breakfast every day for the 5 days we were there. We began to get fed up of eating the same breakfast every day. |The hotel is a little bit further out from the city centre of prague than we had hoped but we realised the invalidovna metro is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The metro is cheap and efficient. Prague centre is only 3 stops away from invalidovna metro so you can be there within 5 minutes. There is a metro every 2 minutes through the day and after 7pm they are every 9 minutes. Public transport is definitely the best way to travel around prague as it...
Read moreI would like to compliment all the staff, especially Reception, on how friendly and helpful they were during my stay. They made our stay all the more pleasurable. The hotel is immaculately clean. Rooms are spacious. Clean towels every day. Breakfast has everything you need to get you started for your day.||There is an Albert supermarket, kebab shop and pizzeria within 5 minutes walking. Got take away pizzas 2 nights from the pizzeria and brought them back to our hotel room - great value and great choice. Was packed the 2 nights we visited.||Old town is about 35-40 minute walk. The metro is 5 minute walk from the hotel, but if weather is nice do the walk, no hills and its an easy walk.||The one little quibble I had was that there was no kettle in the room, however reception were good enough to boil water for me and give me a mug for a leimsip when I wasn't feeling well. I didn't like to bother them but they were so helpful and caring.||Well done Hotel Cechie. We will see ye...
Read moreSTAY AWAY. This was the weirdest and most uncomfortable hotel stay of my life! The staff were completely horrible and unhelpful/uninterested. We booked through hotels.com - and were promised a "4 star hotel". We arrived to discover we were in fact placed in the exterior/ adjacent building - looking like something out of a 70's horror film. Perhaps a remodeled hospital? the room was a tiny, tiny hospital room with tiny, low ceiling and a weird smell. Is it haunted? I don't know... creepy place!!! i wish to God we could have stayed somewhere else, but were unfortunately not in any position to waste money on that trip.||||We asked the staff - they said we were in a "3 star" portion of the hotel not the "4 star" portion which we had paid for - though apparently their record said we got a 3 star room. Where we stayed was 1 star... the other part of the building maybe 2.5 star. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. :( DO NOT...
