Bed & Breakfast in Touraine: The Rooms over the Aigronne River — Hotel in Loches

This B&B is located in the heart of the beautiful Le Petit Pressigny village, opposite a 1 Michelin starred restaurant. It is owned by an incredibly friendly couple who are very flexible and accommodating. There are 4 rooms to choose from and on our visit, despite us booking just 2 hours before arriving, every room was perfectly made up and we were given a tour and a choice of room. We chose the blue room upstairs as it was away from the road, overlooking their garden which guests are invited to relax and enjoy a drink in and has a pretty Parisian patterned bedding and a modern shower which body jets, rainforest shower etc... We were given the key and invited to come and go as we wished and despite them suggesting 8.30 for breakfast they were more than happy to get up and have it all waiting for us for 7am as we requested. It was a very generous breakfast with homemade yoghurt, muesli, fresh croissant, home baked fruit cake and juice and tea/ coffee. For 60 euros it is brilliant- they have maps and recommended walks, beautiful villages nearby and the wonderful restaurant just steps...

Today I walked with my daughter Kira from Gratte Puits, Preuilly-sur-Claise to Le Petit Pressigny and back — about 14.5 km in total. With the temperature around 25°C, we were quite ready for a cup of coffee upon arrival in Le Petit Pressigny.

Along the way, we came across The Rooms over the Aigronne River, a Bed & Breakfast with a lovely tea garden. We asked for two coffees — and were truly spoiled by the owner. She served us coffee with a delicious apricot amuse-bouche, biscuits, and extra water, and kindly let us use the toilet facilities.

Everything looked immaculate, and the coffee (with treats!) was absolutely delightful. She even suggested an alternative route for our return walk and took the time to explain it using a map.

All in all, we felt very well looked after. Refreshed, we set off again, and I knew I had to write this review to...

We stayed here with friends for one night when visiting the nearby restaurant. Our rooms were both beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with comfy beds and a very nice shower room en suite. The hosts couldn't be more friendly and helpful and provided a delicious breakfast which we ate in the pretty garden. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place and hope to return...
