Decent hotel unfortunately let down by unprofessional and rude staff. We had 2 separate issues with the staff here:
The hotel advertised laundry tablets for sale but when I asked to buy one the receptionist said they were out of stock and to go and buy them from the shop. I suggested it would make more sense for the hotel to go to the shop to replace their empty pack and I buy one from them, rather than me buying a whole pack when I only needed the one. The receptionist wouldn't listen to my point, and after going round in circles he disappeared for a while and returned with some washing powder for me to use. I was confused but nevertheless thanked him and left it at that. However, for the rest of the stay I received dirty looks from that staff member and others, including one staff member pointing at me to his colleague as I walked into the lobby. They probably thought they were being subtle, but they weren't.
When we checked into the hotel the girl at the desk told us that breakfast was included which I was pleasantly surprised about. On check out I was faced with the receptionist from the laundry drama who had made his dislike to me very clear, a middle aged man who I assume was the manager, and the girl who checked us in. We were told that breakfast was not included and that we had to pay. The manager was patronising and aggressive and essentially accused me of lying. I know for a fact what I was told but obviously when asked by her intimidating boss, the girl who checked us in denying telling us that breakfast was included. I am not one to be easily intimidated but as a girl in my early 20s, when faced with 3 staff members essentially accusing me of lying, I felt that I had no choice but to pay. When I received the invoice, breakfast was also priced differently for different days which I struggle to understand.
I am sure the hotel will reply and tell me that I was mistaken and that I was told breakfast was NOT included, but I know what I heard. I would never have had breakfast there unless it was included as I prefer to visit a local bakery than to do pay over $10 for a soggy hot dog and a...
Read moreI would rate this hotel between 3 and 4. For the location - 5 stars!| As a member of ASR, I received an email few days prior to check in, asking various questions regarding preferences, reason for stay etc. I specifically requested for a higher floor and also mentioned that my husband and I were coming to celebrate our 46th anniversary. When we reached the hotel, 2 ladies were checking in before us and they were given a higher floor. When our turn came, we were given a room on the 3rd floor. When I reminded the receptionist about my request, she said it was on availability but the rooms had been pre decided. This clearly shows that my request was not taken care of. Anyway, Keti was kind enough to give us an upgrade to a one bedroom on the 6th floor. Secondly, considering that I had mentioned that it was our anniversary, a simple handwritten note wishing us would have made us feel more welcome. Yes, there was a bottle of wine in the room but I think that was given to other guests too. A feeling of warmth was missing. Normally in other hotels, the reception staff are very chirpy and spend a few minutes asking about your stay and other experience. But I saw that largely missing in this property. It was very cut and dried. Internet was erratic and did not work well in the bedroom. In the name of toiletries, there was a tiny bar of soap and a tube of shower gel that doubled up as shampoo. Not even a shower cap. We were given 2 bottles of water on the first day, and when I asked for more the next day, the reception said that the bottles were complimentary only on the first day. This was not mentioned at check in. Considering that ours was a 12 day stay, the water could have been given every 3rd day atleast. There is no signboard on the main road guiding us to the hotel .We arrived by bus and had to ask around without realising that it was right in front of us. Also, the air conditioning is centrally controlled even though there is a remote in the room.|The bedroom was comfortable (though a little small) with a seating area outside and a well equipped kitchen.|Once again, 5 stars...
Read moreUpdate as of 23rd July: “ the hotel Manager Zareb, spoke to us personally and apologized on behalf of his staff employees for their unprofessional behavior and he has been so gracious with us, hats off to him on his kindness and support”
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Citadine Hotel Tbilisi, a stark contrast to my previous visit in February with my family. This visit has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Upon checking in, we discovered bed bugs in the sofa bed, resulting in our six-year-old child waking up covered in bites. Additionally, the toilet flush in our room was not functioning. We promptly requested to be moved to another room and were assured this would happen the next day. However, when we followed up with the hotel reception, we encountered unprofessional and unacceptable behavior.
The first receptionist we spoke to was exceedingly rude, displaying a complete lack of concern for our child's safety or the bed bug issue. Her demeanor suggested a profound dissatisfaction with her job or life, which translated into an utter disregard for guest welfare. After waiting for her shift to end, we approached another staff member, who was not only rude but also dismissive and unprofessional, failing to comprehend or address our concerns adequately.
As I write this, we are still in room 105, unable to sleep or use the bathroom due to the substandard amenities and deplorable staff behavior. It is disheartening to see how a previously positive experience has been marred by the incompetence and rudeness of certain hotel employees who seem uninterested in performing their duties properly.
This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. I urge the management to address these issues promptly to prevent other guests from enduring...
