Look at a place to stay for a few nights during your visit to Antigua? This is the place. I recently travel to Antigua and request the tour agency to put me at a low budget type hotel. This place pleased me the way I anticipated. If you stay longer in town, the place is placed between "family live in" and "mid range" hotel. The place is clean with bare bone amenities but plenty for comfort. No TV, no phone, no table and chair in the room. The bathroom is equipped with clean towels, soap and shampoo. Staff (cleaning and cooking ladies, a guard at night) can barely speak English. You can practice your Spanish as much as you like. The two ladies who speak English and take care of arrival guests from 9-5 can answer your concerns after hours. I had to talk to them by phone at night a few times (through staff initiation) to help me with some problems. They were great helps. They bend backward and forward to help you such as making coffee at 5 am when you have to hop on a bus for a tour. If you are a lone traveler or a small group of travelers who would like to experience low budget and family type of place to stay, this place is for you, even older traveler like me. Maybe not suitable for travelers with kids and travelers who need other...
Read moreWe arrived to check in at 10 am and was told to come back at checkin time 3pm. We had to beg to get our luggage put into the hotel until 3pm so we could walk around without carrying luggage. We could not stay in the hotel until 3 pm. The room was hot and after complaining got a fan two days later. There never seems to be anyone at the reception desk. To get out of the hotel we have to find the cleaning lady to unlock the door to let us out. Our breakfast was included - we had to find the cleaning lady to cook our breakfast.....after 6 days this got a little tiresome. I think there is a management change and it is not good.||There is no Bistro or restaurant here that room is now the breakfast room and used for guests who want to cook their own food. The hotel is clean and the beds comfortable.||I paid 369 GTQ ($75 Canada) for 6 nights. I feel I was ripped off. Stayed in the beautiful Florencia the night before for same money. I will not stay at the...
Read moreWe arrived late, like at 7 or 8pm, hostesses were really nice and kind. They have a bar and restaurant downstairs, rooms upstairs. Breakfast is included (we did not have it though, we woke up reaaaally late). Bar prices are accessible. I think the best impression was given by the hostesses, incredibly kind and understanding. |||| Only downside I saw was the room where we stayed was really hot, a small fan would suffice I guess. ||||The other thing is, you have to remember this is lodging for travelers, this means: people arriving late, either from traveling or from partying, and also people leaving really early; but then again I liked the place, for sure I'll be...
