Frost Guesthouse — Hotel in Iceland

Positive things first: the room was clean as well as the public kitchen, which also had plenty of space, dishes and a working coffee machine.

Only negative thing we encountered was that when taking shower at 10:30 in the morning, the hot water ended. The problem fixed by waiting for 5 minutes but maybe the owner could turn the knob in the boiler a bit clockwise :).

I booked the room in April 2025 when this guesthouse had zero reviews in Google Maps and in hotels.com. When my trip came closer, I read many reviews about people not getting into the room. I got my code for keybox in the previous evening with no problem.

If my eyesight was correct, the hotel is run by an Indian (?) couple (?) who is still learning how to run a hotel. This was still on the old name in Google Maps (fixed when we reported it) and the Wifi has the old hotel name. Just do a well-arranged system (Excel will do fine) to ensure everyone gets an email with the key box code and you will get this over 4,0/5,0 stars.

There is no breakfast served (it is DIY) and the voice insulation is not good. These are not actual problems if you know...

I have some problem. We never get the email with explanation how we get to the room when we got there. There is no workers there is no one that could help us to get in. Unfortunately, we booked it through the Expedia and we was not able to contact with Expedia they call that number they have on the test More than hundred times nobody respond. We send them a message to Expedia. They never respond. Unfortunately we have nowhere to go. We just sleep in the car. We hope that somebody will call us back and will open the door that we will be able to go to our room and we will get some rest Which one never happens. This is worse hotel experience in my life. I don’t recommend no one just find something else there is no Workers no support you will lose your money and the money is like nothing. After a long day when you’re tired you need some rest. You will get nothing. You will get sleep in your car or in the evening. You have to try to find another hotel which one is not gonna be nearby or not gonna be available. This is the worst experience in my life. I hope no one has this...

We booked this property and upon arrival found out that this property is not manned and in order to enter the room, the property send an email with a passcode in order to access the room, 24 hours prior to arrival. We DID NOT receive any email with a passcode. We called the number that was posted at the front desk that stated for help call this number, this was also the same number to call after 4pm if you are having issues checking in. We called that number for 30 minutes, even after 4 pm, but no answer, we kept receiving the message, "The Mobile number cannot be reached at this time". Needless to say, we had to find another location to spend the night. We contacted Orbitz, but have NOT received any response about receiving a refund from the property, since we already paid!!! So beware when booking this guesthouse! Frost Guesthouse you are an utter disappointment...
