No doubt, both the hospitality of the team and the rooms of the property are excellent. But, what disappoints us is the food. The food is really bad.
What added to the flavor was the food bill. Since we had decided to pay the food bill at the time of checkout, we were signing all the bills side by side. But at the time of checkout, the total bill surprised us. • Items were not clearly specified in the bill. We had lunch buffet the day we checked in, a pizza in the evening, chose à la carte for dinner, the next day’s breakfast was included in the room’s bill and finally, we had lunch the next day, before checking out. If anyone sees the bill, no one would be able to understand this bifurcation. Also, pizza that we had in the previous evening, could not be found anywhere in the bill • Post the lunch on the day of checkout, the person at the billing counter told us that he had settled the total bill for us, for Rs. 5,662, that needs to be paid at the front desk, where all the check-ins/outs are handled. When we asked for the bill that needs to be signed, we were told that there was no need to sign this bill, we have updated this (amount) in the system. What would one understand with this? That the total food bill for two days totals Rs. 5,662? But, this was not the case • When we went at the front desk, we were handed aver a food bill of Rs 8,578. How did they reach this amount? We don’t know, since the bill was totally ambiguous • When we reached out to them, they gave us the bifurcation. The main problem came out to be the amount of the lunch we just had • We were told that what we just had, prior to checking out, was actually a “brunch” and not a “lunch” for the people checking-in that day. Well, what about the people checking out? • We had some basic questions for them: why would a person who had a buffet in the morning, was “forced” to have a buffet in lunch. This was because à la carte was “not available” during Sunday’s lunch. Why is this so? If we were so full that we did not want to have a buffet in the lunch, why should we have one? • Amount of Rs. 5,662 that we were communicated earlier was nowhere in the bill. We don’t know what that was! • The amount for lunch buffet on Saturday (4th March), the day we checked in was around Rs. 1,100 + taxes. But this brunch’s cost was Rs. 2,999. But this wasn’t this specified to us earlier. Should we ask for the price of the buffet before we have one each time? We were charged Rs. 6,000 + taxes (minus the membership discount, for 2 people) for this brunch. This price could have been Rs. 5,000 per person, or rather any other crazy amount. • More disappointing is the staff’s inability to handle our queries, and we were constantly receiving a single reply, “Ke mam ab to kuchh nahi ho sakta. Humien ek aur opportunity do”. Matlab ab hum phir se aa ke stay karien, despite knowing the fact that the food is not good and secondly, you charge some crazy amounts for a so-called brunch? • Adding to this, when a feedback form was sent over mail, I had specified this issue. Again, a team member mailed us that the differential amount would be refunded in 14 days. Well, it has been more than 14 days now, no refund has come up!
I am just writing this, so that what happened with us, should not happen with anyone else. So any one reading this review,...
Read moreA very posh and luxurious resort for a perfect weekend getaway. If you are in delhi ncr and want to escape the city life but don't want to travel very far then this is the place for you. It's a huge and beautiful property. Swimming pool is definitely the highlight here. We were greeted by Kanika at the front desk and she was very courteous and helpful. The pool facing rooms are nice with big balconies. Take a higher floor for a better view of the pool area and aravalis. The entire restaurant staff is worth appreciating. The service is very prompt and the food is exceptional! Each and every item in the buffet was outstanding. From starters to sweet dish everything was so delicious. Food isn't bland like other 5 star properties and this is by the far the best food we have had in a 5 star in recent times. We still cant get over the taste of baked gulab jamuns, they were "Heavenly!!" Kudos to the chefs! Excellent preparation, presentation as well as selection of menu. Really loved the food. The two girls ( not sure about their names) who conduct the activities during high tea are really sweet and always smiling. Our 6 year old son really enjoyed the activities. It is a fun place for kids. The recreational activity staff is also very well mannered. Must mention the flute player during buffet breakfast. It was lovely to hear the sweet melody of flute in the morning. The candy cart was my fav place ;) I got a chance to taste pan pasand toffee after ages :) :) There was a major fault in the waterline due to which there was a serious water issue in the resort so we were given a different room where there was some water supply. So this was a hassle for us. But apart from this our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. Want to thank the entire Team of Courtyard by Marriot Aravali for giving us a memorable experience. Looking forward to...
Read moreYes you have to travel for this one, unfortunately through not so great roads, but when you reach this oasis in an industrial belt, it's a completely different world. Very aesthetic looks, modern amenities, comfortable large rooms and beds, warm smiles around, special lawns and other recreational areas. But what impressed us the most was the food. I cannot imagine how juicy, tender, flavorful, each and every dish was at this hotel. The chefs (Mahesh Singh, Chef Kumar, the Sikh chef handling the tandoor, etc, etc) were very involved in their work, regularly came and asked how everything was, and ensured that we and our clients have a great time.|One person whom I would like to highlight here is the Sales head DHRUV. Usually once the deal is done, our 'project' is handed over to the front office or banquet mgr so that the event is as per planned. In fact, in times of conflict, we have had experiences that the sales team that sold us the deal, have moved on to newer clients and we have had to sort things amongst us. So either we, or the banquet would need to compromise.||However, Dhruv has been a pleasant surprise and I feel he will go up the success ladder quite quickly. He has been our go-to man for those 3 days. He has solved all our queries, problems, (no conflicts thankfully), and more importantly he has been there, visible, to take a request or simply smile and ensure things are going on well. He also shared a few personal moments after the event, and this gesture will ensure we return to the Courtyard Marriott Aravali resort very soon!|There are several others who made our stay and event pleasurable, I wish I remembered everyone's names.|#butter chicken was to die for, and I had only one spoon during...
